358429, In semi auto it's the 1911 Kimber. I began looking at the 10mm's about 5 years ago. I wanted to like the Glock 20 as they seemed to have a better record for longevity. But I just couldn't. This winter I fell into a nice deal on the Glock, if...

Phil Shoemaker the Alaskan fishing and bear guide stopped a grizzly charge with some fishing clients using a 9mm somewhat recently, like in the last decade or so. The grizzly that killed and ate Treadwell and his girlfriend was supposedly stopped by...

I haven't drunk the 10mm Koolaid but I have stirred up a couple of batches. The 10mm meets my personal bottom line. My bottom line being 200 grain NOE 403-198-WFN bullet and 1200 fps. Oddly this is my minimum for both as a bullet weight and velocity...

Being that you already have a Buck 102 you might look at the model 103 Buck. Maybe not as pointy as you wanted, that's where the 102 takes over, but a good skinner and available with out any embellishments. Buck use to offer these as a combo in a...

There may actually be some hope for Colt. CZ recently purchased Colt. I'm hoping that it's not just for the US and foreign military contracts/contacts. There (CZ) also building a US manufacturing plant in the south. I'm more optimistic about Colt...

August of 1992 says you've narrowed it down to a pretty fine point. Except for a factory letter I doubt you'll come any closer. Now for the true test the shooting.

A Ruger Single Six in 32 H&R on the left and the 8 shot Blackhawk on the right. A bit of difference. The Blackhawk is more of a shooters gun. In a 32 caliber round a Single Six makes a better woods loafer though.

I realize you don't have the full history of the gun but is there any chance of a re-barreling? Any odd ball marks or stamps on the grip frame under the grips from maybe the S&W shop? The cut rifle barrels have a reputation for squarer/sharper lands...

    Late 1990's early 2000's S&W 625 Model of 1989 dash -8 version. With a -3 I'm thinking yours is the original model of 1989 S&W 625 5 inch gun.

Power Custom use to and may still sell a jig for holding the crane so it can be drilled and they sold the springs and detent balls with a hollow tip punch to stake the balls. It's not a hard job. Getting the detent located correctly in the frame and...

Well you stumped me. The original run of "Model of 1989" had roll marked barrels if I remember correctly. My later one has the etched barrel marking, safety hole, newer cylinder release, MIM trigger and hammer and newer style cylinder stop. Except...

There is no hammer lock hole older cylinder release and the rear cylinder stop on the left side is the older round plug type. Is the "model of 1989" etched or roll marked on the barrel? If it's roll marked I think the crane lock up was added.

I've one of the full sized Blackhawk 8 shooters. I didn't think Ruger was going to fit the 327 into there Single Six frame so bought while the Blackhawk was available. If I'd have known I would have waited for the Single Seven. Mine gets the Lyman...
