The trick is to use a bullet design such that the design does not float the nose when it comes over the curve in the top of the trajectory. The RN or fLat point is made to break the air evenly over the nose, thus allowing the bullet to come over the...

Best of luck on your welding learning curve. I guess breaking something and welding it back together might be a start. Like a disk set frame or even a blade.

If you can, in any way, go. Very rarely do you get a chance to create a real memory, their memory, with your kids. My son made it to be the state IHMSA Junior champion, I was his spotter. You can not replace that memory.

Just buy a replacement fire control group that gives you a match weight trigger, usually about 3.5-4 pounds, you will be miles ahead of the game. I been working on ARs since 64.

If you cast using more than one mold, the process times itself. I cast using four molds of different designs, water drop, so it is easy to sort the bullets at the end of the casting day.

I use 230g plain base. shake and bake powder coated, sized to groove diameter using case lube, with 9.5 to 11g H-110 at around 1,000 fps. Holds to 1/2 inch at 50 yards with a can. It does not anchor a big hog with one shot. So be careful.
