The last S. Mauser action I bought was from a guy that planned on building the Alaskan out of it. The action is the last variation of the 98, not the first, built by Arasaka of Japan prior to WWII for the now Thai government, under contract. The...

Well I am lucky to have met some of the pioneers and their family members over the years. I was given a first edition, signed copy of Sharpe’s reloading guide, signed by another author, Forrest G “Jim” Tilton whom wrote Lugers Unlimited. Jim owned...

. I have owned just about all of the cartridges mentioned, in cast bullet only competition for 40 years. I would suggest the 7 TCU with commercial brass, selected by capacity, using the RCBS 145 silhouette bullet with 4227 and sperical buffer...

Rapier replied to a thread 5.6x50R in Cadet? in Single Shot Guns
I have a 225 Win Mag and a 222R and two 357 Super Mag Cadets. The secret is case taper or rifle bullets, to make the curve. If an empty case will eject, it will “make the curve” with a proper bullet design. The 225 works just fine. This is the...

It probably would not have head-spaced on your action or fit your forearm, without a bit of work, anyway.......;-). I think that is what the fox looking at the grapes would say.

I live in big hog country. 5-600 # big, and we can hunt day or night with lights or thermals, cans, etc. I have several hog adequate rifles for the farm. Prefer the AR-15 platform with big cartridges, like the 358 MGP (necked up, blown out 6.8) with...

The 45-70 is just like a sledge hammer, you let the head do the work. It does not take speed. So many powders work in the 45-70 at so many levels. Unique is very good for light loads without need for any filler. Pay attention to your action type...

Crows live to 80 years of age, so they get real smart. They have their own language and if you study on them, you can duplicate their calls, just make sure you do not duplicate the “danger-get out of Dodge” call. Most amazing is the hawk/owl fight,...

Understand that today you use what you have or can find. I shiot Field Pistol for years and discovered that 231 does not care whether it is loaded in 38 Spl cases or 357 cases, the same load shoots in both. so you can check two areas for 231 loads....

Not to many city folks liked ham and lima beans in Cs but I figured they were more like real food. I could get them, no trade, at all times. I did not smoke, but at 6’1” I did eat, so I would trade cigs for groceries. I carried a P-38 on my key...
