The great metal in body society, just keeps getting bigger and bigger…. Follow the rehab and get out and walk, walk, walk. Good on you for getting past the MRSA, that is a high hill.

Sorry, did not get a notice on the question about the 200 cast and the 30-20. The gun was a Merrill/XL single shot pistol with a 1-10 .308 barrel, 10 inches. Load was 11 grains of H-4227 at 1,306 fps SD 13 fps, 1” at 50 meters. Bullet was a Saeco...

The 45-70 is good medicine for deer, hogs or bear. Not many critters can carry that .458 slug very far at all.

If all you need is boiling water, will steam do? This is my steam generator, I can do a 2 hour boil job in 15 minutes with rolling steam. Rust blue an entir gun in 1 day. I think it cost about $15 from ACE. Without the cooker.

I have never needed a HP in my 35s when using a 200 FP. It hits so hard, does not stop on a deer, bear or hog. I am pushing 2,600 fps with plain base PCed 200g bullets with 1680 in my 358 MGP ARs. The MGP is a necked up 6.8 SPC. Never seen a hog,...

I own a 225 Win Mag rifle, just buy the brass. The 225 is a rimmed 22-250, a 65K case. No good wishes or great ideas will ever make a 30-30 case into a 65K performance case, period.

I have put a bunch of match barrels in my custom Glock builds, the factory barrels shot as good as the “match” barrels, from a rest. So I would just get a new M-30 barrel and roll on. No, Glock + cast bullet complaint to Glock.

Sounds like that 270x300 might be close to the 6.8 SPC capacity, which is basically a 270x30 Rem. Been thinking about trying cast PCed in my ARs in 6.8. I have two cats based on the 6.8 that work fine with cast PC bullets now.

Great outcome on your hunt. The 35s just make such a fine cast bullet shooter for deer or wild hog hunting. I use the RCBS 200 Silhouette FP plain base powder coated. I use them on the farm in an AR-15 with the 358 MGP, the 35 Whelen in the Rem 700...

357 Super Mag and the 7 TCU have exactly the same case capacity. Can use the same powder, mainly 4227 for cast. The 30x357 Mag should be about 66% H2o capacity and 4227 should work well, as 4227 also works well in the 30-20 with 200g cast.

The original 52 Spencer fired a rimfire 52 cal, looked similar to an oversized 44 Henry cartridge. If it was converted to centerfire, it could be marked 52 but it could be any centerfire BP case that could be chambered into the original 52’s barrel....
