Anything brass goes in the recycle bucket. Primers are segregated by type for re-priming experiments.

Also notice the lead is noticeably smaller than the zinc of the same weight. It’s another good hint

Here is an example of what I meant by the sharper shoulder. Top is lead, bottom is zinc. This one is clearly marked as zinc but it’s what I had on hand and the shape is shared by other lesser marked zinc weights. A pair of side cutters is a...

In my experience, many of the ones marked only with their weight are lead. They have a particular shape and there are zinc weights that have a very similar shape but the “shoulders” are sharper on the lead weights. The zinc versions typically have a...

It’s a Glock style lever gun. Nothing to look at but appears to be plenty useful. I like that it’s threaded for a suppressor. Would be awfully handy for marauding critters and you don’t have to worry about banging it up.

I second this sight-unseen diagnosis. Very common issue. I always recommend replacing the end links along with bar bushings. They are the rubber bushings that hold the stabilizer bar to the body/subframe. As to what vehicle to take? Toyota...

They are asking a lot but at least we’re seeing some availability if you’re desperate. I have two new loaders coming over this weekend for a lesson and they are struggling to find components at any price. I’ll likely end up sending them home with...

My apologies, I read this entire thread over the course of the day and seem to have crossed stories. I’m sorry you had to see her like that.

Sometimes a problem can be a blessing in disguise. My father is good friends with a Vietnamese fella who makes coyote taste good. He says back home, dog was always on the menu. Doug, Iím so sorry for your loss. I know the feeling all too well....

I use stacks of old tires filled with sand. I have yet to have a bullet make it much further that half way. A kitty litter scoop and some patience will give you a handful of spent bullets in pretty short order. In my experience, pistol bullets tend...

That’s similar to the One-Eyed Texans Mom used to make when I was a kid. I think she drizzled balsamic vinegar over them. Very tasty!

I have dissected one of those in the past as well. They don’t like to come apart. We’re seeing more and more of those at our shop. Zinc seems to be on the way out in favor of these and plain old steel. We still use zinc for clip ons and steel for...

I tend to agree. I know the baby western rat snakes (“black rat snake”) we get around here have the dark stripe over the eyes and face like that one. They are great to have around. Very laid back and gobble up pests like a Hoover. Missouri only...

I use a small, cheap pair of HF bolt cutters. You definitely know when you get a steel core bullet but they do the job. I like the idea of making a fixture for them.
