I haven't cast or shot any yet, but I not long ago picked up a 180gr full wadcutter in 44. Ought to be a fun plinking bullet.

I like them in short-barrelled 44 specials. Both the swc and full wadcutters. In a revolver like a Bulldog I can get some respectable velocity while still being able to control the piece.

Dunross replied to a poll Spent Primers in Cast Boolits
I do save them, but not for any particular purpose - yet. I suppose it might one day come to having to try reloading them, but not at this point. A one liter soda bottle will hold a LOT of spent primers so it's not like they take up much space.

I am one of those interested in an electric vehicle. They're not quite ready yet for what I want, but I am watching them. The beginning of the twentieth century had very little infrastructure in place for gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. ...

Dunross replied to a thread Ah yes, Fig Jam in Cookin' Recipe's
My grandmother used to make strawberry fig preserves. Ate many a jar. Basically half strawberries, half figs, pureed but not too smooth. A little sugar and pectin. I've made them several times over the years, but haven't got a fig tree of my own.

Roosters crow at day break. They crow at 11:00am, noon, one, five, and six. They crow after dark and in the pre-dawn hours. Dogs bark at all of those very same times. Trucks go by, sirens sound, planes and/or helicopters go by. It's all in what...

Yes, in 327 brass and I use them in both a Henry and an SP101. Won't have my load journal available for a few days, but the data is available in the Lyman manual or from the Hodgon site.

I bought chicks local this year so as to avoid the whole USPS delivery delays problems. They've been a lot better these last several months compared to what they were in February and March when I usually order chicks. Ordering straight-run is...

What Elsa lacked in wind speed she made up for in precipitation - eleven inches. We went from so dry even the native weeds were dying to so wet we have ponds where there used to be dry ground.

For coon sized and smaller animals I like a 90-100gr swc or fp bullet loaded to entry level .32 H&R Magnum levels. No need for anything hotter and .32 Long levels would probably suffice. For anything larger than a coon I like a 115-120gr flat...

Went to a small show in Ocala, Fl last Saturday. It's a Shrine hall so not a big venue, but it was packed. I didn't buy anything, but my partner got a couple of boxes of Fiocchi .32acp from one dealer who had it for only $35 a box which is the...

My shooting partner and I have what's left of a huge order of cast bullets we bought back during the first Clinton administration. Some of them now have the lube falling out, at least partially, so for those bullets I want to give this a try. No...

While it was only a musical, not a history lesson, we watch 1776 in our house every 4th of July. They were only men who all had feet of clay, but they *eventually* pulled together enough to produce and sign the Declaration of Independence. It...

I found I had bought two of the same mold. 44 wadcutters at that. That annoyed me enough to pull out every mold I have to bring my inventory list up to date.
