I use a soft cast bullet of 0.462" dia over 78gn of Wano 2P in either Bertram cases or reformed 24ga Mactec shotshell brass. For lube I use pure Lanotec grease, bit messy but sure stops that fouling clogging up the barrel.

She's pretty well known around here. Directly from one of her family members. I think the guy she is talking about is the manager for the gun area. I've heard a lot of other stories about odd service at that store.

Welcome "TigerJack" Sounds like you have either a Pedersoli or Uberti 1874 Sharps. Lots of reading on a similar subject here: https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?426545-Developing-a-load-for-a-Pedersoli-Sharps-1874-45-90

I hope no other female, experienced shooter, has to go through this experience. “Today, I walked into Cabelas in Kalispell to look at a Sako S20 300 win mag that I’ve been thinking about purchasing. Upon handling it I noticed a few scratches on...

Okay, I've only been shooting them for 47 years, and building them for 40 years. Nipples should only be removed once a year for inspection and lubing.

That's a shame. Machineguns Montana announced they will be holding a machine gun shoot somewhere here around Kalispell this summer. It would be nice to have an event like that local annually.

Got a hold of some hard to get black powder cartridge reloading dies. They hadn't been used for quite a few years. Home was a box up on a shelf in a garage. Two of the sets were missing a die body so I've emailed Redding and RCBS about...

Mark, unless you find, or come across another steel 6 point pre-crimp ring, stick with reloading 8 point crimped hulls. Don't crimp 6 point hulls with the crimp ring you have now. Your AA hulls and most target loaded factory hulls are 8 point...

I initially went that route back in 1981 after getting my first 600 in 12 gauge. Bought the 10 gauge dies an then the 16 and swapped them out. A real PITA. Save yourself time, frustration, and money. Keep your eyes out for more 600 Jr's in those...

Looks like a MK-5. 600 Jr. in 12 gauge. Talk to the people at MEC. They have parts that should fit. Should be marking on the red base plate. Be sure to download the manual that's free online. It'll help identify missing parts by name and parts...

It is not a good idea to remove nipples on cap locks. It will cause thread wear, and they will not seat properly after much use.

Back nearly fifty years ago, myself and some friends used to hunt rattlesnakes. At that time, you could milk them in the field, and then sell the venom to the hospital for very good money per gram. Then the rules changed, and the snakes had to be...

When you get right down to it, fossil fuel vehicles will be around until the price and efficiency is at a point where people prefer the electric vehicles. Buggy whip factories didn't go out of business because they were outlawed. People just decided...

Electric vehicles will be great, as long as you don't need a heater or air conditioner. Around here, you need both the same day.

Beagleing the mold in that manner would create an elipictal unbalanced boolit? I bow to superior knowledge - not! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOo-muzMRp0 https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?224273-Boolit-for-Pedersoli-throat

Firstly let me say that your "over thinking" the methods of getting accurate loads with your Pedersoli. A boolit that casts 0.4575" you are sizing to 0.459" when made of a hard 1:16 alloy???? I find that hard to believe! I shoot my 45/90 with an...

It takes multiple cycles of oxidation and boil out. For boiling, you need to go 25 minutes for the conversion to work well. If steaming, 20 minutes.
