    The NSK brand used to be a good one.....all mine ..verniers and micrometers come from the sixties....in my first job,I was given a new micrometer made by "Ambrose Shardlow &Co "...still have it ,the fuzz has worn off the velvet in the case.

    I had Ford cars in the 70s......a big water splash ,and you had 10 seconds to get off the road before the motor cut out.......Out with the WD40,spray the leads and inside the cap,even in the rain,and youd be going again.

    Last time I was at the scrapyard,there were big cartons (pallet size) of fired brass,maybe 9mm.....the kid was sort of moving over to have a look......I said -dont even think about it-there are cameras everywhere.

    The effective rust penetrators of the past had now banned chemicals in them ,like carbon disulfide,and carbon tet,......the most effective ones for marine use have nitric acid in them ,so you wont be seeing them in the hardware store.

    I used to reliably get 4" @100yds with Minies,and that is what others have said too.........very important is the bullet must be soft ......nearly pure lead......some of the online cast minies are hard ,and useless for anything but melting...

    Looks like the extractor is an inserted peg ,maybe screwed in ,maybe just driven in.........if it can be removed ,then a more effective one can be made........however ,the stub extractor is generally considered to be a very poor attempt to cheapen...
