It would definitely work, but it isn't something you want to do. I'm surprised you are allowed to do it on aircraft. If you are working on a car or truck, you are certainly working on a used brake system. The systems build up little bits of dirt and...

I think I know what manual he is referring to, it's an old one, but it needs the rest of the paragraph for context too.

And can you please provide the quote from that manual, in full context for us please? A picture would be just as good.

While I'm sure gravity bleeding can work, how long would it take? 30 minutes per wheel? Ain't nobody got time for that.

You smeared two perfectly good powders for no reason. You straight up said both have shown tendencies to go "boom", implied in a bad way (False, neither have). Your post is a rumor of a rumor. Did you expect warm welcomes?

.315" is a standard size for 32 caliber muzzleloaders. .320" is pretty typical for a 31 or 32 caliber cap and ball, and also happens to be 0 buckshot. There's lot of variations as well. Lee makes .310", .311", and .319". It sounds to me you...

Yes, and you don't even need fancy stuff. I never could understand why people always did the two person pump-hold-bleed method. Just take a hose that fits your bleeder nipple. Put a loop in in using a zip tie. Attach the hose to the bleeder, and...

You might possibly be the only person I've ever heard have a broken firing pin on an 870. They do not start breaking below zero. I've shot 870's way below that.

I am with Cory on this! I don’t really recreational shoot with the struggle for components. I tune up, check zero, and make food. On load development, prolly less then 100 hopefully if things go well..

I like to practice a lot. For shotguns, I've had years I've shot 100:1 practice shots to birds killed for sure. Then there are years like this year. I got hurt, had shoulder surgery. I've fired a few hundred rounds of handgun. Good one-handed...

It really depends on what I'm loading. In most bottleneck rifles, I just choose a similar powder. Data for those isn't set in stone anyway. In a handgun, I don't think I've ever had the problem. Sometimes I have to use data for a bullet that is...

This thread is horrible. Half these posts are false gibberish. I'm not ever sure where to begin on this one. I guess I'll start with H110. H110 is not going to go boom if you reduce it. Well, it might, but that's what you want. There's no crazy...

I think you are right, but I also think Rem oil is the worst gun oil made. It's worse than Hoppe's, which is just mineral oil in an orange bottle.

megasupermagnum replied to a thread 2 Cycle oil in Our Town
Compared to regular API certified 4 stroke oil like a 5w30, most 2 stroke oils have similar lubricity, less detergents, and additives that are meant to burn off clean. How this would effect a gun, I doubt you would see a difference. CLP is a whole...

What does it matter? LUP was, and still is a perfectly viable measurement for shotguns. If it's under the old standard of 10,500 LUP, it will almost certainly be under the new Piezo standard of 12,000 PSI. If it wasn't, Hodgdon wouldn't publish it.

It's hard to say if accuracy would benefit at all. The only guns that lead bad have rough and/or uneven bores. A good bore is a good bore, and there's no replacement for that. The only shotgun I have that leads significantly is also quite possibly...

You shot both and thought the 686 had the better trigger? Or do you just prefer the wide blade trigger of S&W's? I personally find the GP100 generally has a better trigger.

If you then water quenched the bullet after filling the nose with pure lead, you should retain the hardness. I'm not sure it would act like a soft nose though. Being as the pure lead would be completely encased in L#2, and there's no way you would...

Pressure testing isn't that much. Tom Armbrust charges $25 for a 5 shot string. Tom's test gun isn't in danger. You don't have to worry about him. I'm not sure what you are worried about though. You are backing off from published data, correct? You...

I've seen it done. I'm sure it would eliminate leading. I'm no fan of coating, but this would be a good use for it. Alternatively, tumble lube in Alox works just fine.
