I use a thick grease on the end of the locking surface of the lever, and the machine marks actually help hold a little lubricant there. Like an M-1 Garand, any moving part with any finish wear, gets a film of grease. Might not fix the problem, but...

Lyman made their steel sizing die for shot shell cases too, that you could size them with a vise or big hammer. I had one, but haven't seen it in a while. I would think they would show up on ebay occasionally.

Is it made by Shiloh? I have a 4 cavity round ball mould made by them, with two cavities on top, and two on the bottom. I did see one like yours on ebay a while back, but can't remember for certain who made it

9 grains of 700x or 10 grs of Unique will make a good load, those shoot well in my 30-40 Krag.

A Hamilton 27 was my first .22. It was given to my Dad from an an old Lady my Dad rented land from. She said her father used it to shoot squirrels, in Huron,SD. Now I have quite a collection of Hamiltons, which are kind of interesting to me...

You guys have gotten my curiosity up, so I just finished removing the turret, and I think I know whats up. Both top and bottom of the turret have the blind indexing holes, so in order to use the oversized blank die holes, you would have to flip the...

I recently bought a Herters turret press on an online auction, that was red. The pictures weren't very good, so I thought it was just repainted, but when I got it, I found it had the original red crinkle paint, in very nice condition. All the other...

If you have an old Dixie Gun Works catalog, they used to show them for sale. they might have a little history about them.

I have several, and use them all the time. Yours only de-primes, and they made another version with a threaded knob, that was located in the primer hole. Unscrew it out a few turns, and it left clearance for the spent primer to be pushed out. ...

I watch a old character on U-tube called Logcabinlooms, and he used one of those rifles. I liked the looks and simplicity of it, some day I'm going to find one.

The Acra Glas resin part looks fine , but the hardener portion is really stiff, so I will try a few drops of acetone mixed in, and try it on something. For my split gunstock I bought some Gorrilla Glue two part epoxy, and thinned with a little...

Now you have to buy 4 Model 8 Remingtons, one in each caliber, to go with your clips. The Model 8's design is 120 yrs old, so Uncle Joe might let you keep them, for a while. I got a couple at an auction in a box of misc stuff, wish I could find...

That 48 blue Willys is way cool, but I have the ugliest Jeep ever made, a FC150. It's resting out in the pasture. It's pretty rough, but I saved it from becoming an I beam in a Chinese hi-rise.

Just saw an odd devise at a gun show today, an auxiliary chamber in 30-06 caliber, that held a .22 RF cartridge. I asked the owner of it, how can that shoot accurately out of a .30 caliber barrel ? He showed me the instructions, and the small .30...

Well I found an old kit that I dated 1999. What was left of the resin looks OK, but the hardener was the consistency of really stiff honey. I may try warming it up, and mixing up a small batch as an experiment, to see how strong it is, but I will...

Wish I would have kept my #3 hornet. It was the first rifle I ever cast for, but used the 225415 bullet and probably 2400 powder. It did not shoot very well, so I traded it off for an H Farmall ! If I had it now, I would have many more bullet...

I shoot both with cast, and find them both to be excellent shooters. The O3a3 has better sights, especially as you get older. The 06 brass is always easy to find, the 30-40 is around now,but availability is sometimes sporadic. Grafs has some now,...
