CCC is the old Connecticut Cartridge Company. They did at one time make a lot of unavailable brass cases. But sometime during the Vietnam War they stopped with brass for older guns and started making cases for the Gov't. Seem to remember them...

I'm happy you posted your pic of the Stevens Walnut Hill. Looks to be a nice single shot in 22rf. But the best part is that your pics allowed me to identify a forearm I've had for a bunch of years. Long suspected that it was from a Stevens single...

I have one of the old style plumbers pots with the burner head. These require a special fitting on top of the propane tank that allows the whole burner unit to screw onto the fitting. Both the pot and burner head sit in my garage here in Louisiana....

I can well understand your wanting to have a 44 special. On the S&W forum the 44 special has an almost cult following. have a 24-3 with the 3" bbl,24-3 with the 4" bbl and a 624 with the 6.5" bbl. Even with Winchester's 200 grain Silvertip hollow...

The old Lyman All American scopes were also longer in the tube length making it easier to mount without stock crawling due to the more modern scopes developed for the shorter actions. I have a All American perma-center in 6x as well as a 10x with...

Mother's mag polish works well on stainless steel firearms. All done by hand and no power equipment. Some of the S&W's done on the S&W forum look like mirrors as you can see the reflection of the person taking the pics. Try some on the grip frame...

Actually was either a member here or on another forum who had large amounts of range brass. Bought a Harbor Freight poly drum cement mixer to clean and polish brass. I believe he got the corn cob media from a welding shop. A good welding supply shop...

Bought the Canadian Centennial 20" carbine years ago. Put a Lyman globe front sight on it and a Williams rear sight on it. Call it my lever action match rifle. Few years later Cherry's Fine guns had the 26" barreled rifle and bought that. Love the...

I was born and raised in NYC, and saw the towers every day from where I worked. Took an early out and retired to Louisiana. My wife woke me up and said they are destroying the twin towers. Little did both of us know that this was a preplanned...

Some may dispute this, but I like frosty bullets. I normally cast the first dozen casts faster just to get the mold temp to where I get an evenly uniform frosty bullet. Then slow down so as to maintain the frosty condition. I use a pair of heavy...

The Lyman 314299 is all that I shoot out of my Finn M27 made in 1935. I bought one of those 314299 molds when they first came out. Nose is .303-.304 and body at .314. Shot very well with wheel weights and 2% tin. Few weeks after I first shot it with...

Maybe not mean much, but lead was/is used to make gaskets. Place where I worked had old oil lines made from steel but with cast iron flanges and lead gaskets in between the flanges. Really old lines. Frank

Definitely a hair raising experience. Pun intended. Loudest noises I ever experienced were the 5"54's on my ship. I wanted a fired brass case in the worst way. Grabbed a set of ear muffs from a buddy in the air wing. Then the asbestos gloves and the...
