If these “new, low volume shooters” remain casual shooters, using up a box of ammo only very few months, then reloading may not hold much interest for them. If they ever get bitten by the competition bug, ammo usage goes way up, especially in...

I’ve reused pulled bullets, but never un-deformed (jacketed) bullets out of the berm, figuring possible bore damage from unremovable grit and maybe loss of accuracy outweighed the savings and hassle. I’d guess it depends on application, but...

I once saw a very nice wheel from a high end bicycle on the highway. Since it was coming at me out of the rear of a pickup with a bed mounted rack (why I could tell it was off a nice frame) at a closing velocity of 70 mph, and was bouncing...

Even as I’m slowing down with the years I still put a couple thousand rounds a month down range, sometimes more, so a progressive makes sense. The SDB I bought late in the last century serves, as I only load pistol rounds, and have small hands...

I’m glad it’s an issue, by which I mean that admin and mods are hopefully trying to get rid of a problem, not deliberately accommodating what many here find a very exasperating and unwelcome intrusion.

This current component pickle I think has been worse and longer due to the perfect storm of an election cycle with unfavorable gun rights results, the pandemic and supply chain issues, social unrest and maybe even the war in Ukraine with its drain...

Update. With the carbide ring now held tight by green Loctite, I chucked a split 3/8” dowel in a hand drill and wrapped enough 800 grit carborundum paper through the slit and around the dowel to make a snug fit in the ring. Repeated low speed...

I found three things turned my very high BTU (367,000 claimed) double jet burner from an inefficient propane waster into a fast melting system for my 240# capacity pot: A wind screen to shield the flame, a thermal jacket around the pot to keep the...
