The problem was most likely the cap end of the nipple not allowing the cap to seat properly. Spanish and Italian steels are soft and the end of the cones round over after so many impacts from the hammer. The easy and fast cure is to replace the...

I'd stay away from the s&s made ones. I got a .460 and a. 461 from them and neither of them are concentric.

I guess it finally caught up with them. When you try to sell Firearms and related stuff at 25 to 30 percent above retail nobody's gonna buy it from you. They use to be good for selling and trading but they put a stop to that the last time I tried...

I had a coworker years ago that at his old job when the boss got any junk mail had a special way to fix it. If it was a post paid envlope his boss would have him bust up and box up a couple of cinder blocks attach the post paid envlope and send it...

I had 4 texts on Monday from a bank I've never done business with that I needed to text them back RIGHT away because they were locking out my account. Pretty neat trick considering the banks were closed for labor day. I looked up the area code which...

Looks legit to me. Most reprints are of Casey's infantry tactics 1855 and Hardee's light infantry tactics 1858? and the reprints look like new for the Civil War reenactors to learn from and use at living history events.

1Hawkeye replied to a thread Lyman mould specs? in Cast Boolits
If it casts the correct diameter it should be fine for a .45-70. I would try the loading data for the lyman 457658 bullet which is the closest in weight.

B.A. I know what you mean. I have a BSA 12/15 and a #8 sporting rifle both fitted out with PH7a rear sights and globe fronts. I had a MK1 international but it shot no better than the 12/15 and one day someone saw me shooting it made me an offer so...

1Hawkeye replied to a thread Lyman mould specs? in Cast Boolits
My 1929 ideal catalog/loading manual shows 457121 as a 475 gr suggested for sharps rifles but I also know that lyman brought that mold back out in the late 80's / early 90's to go with the navy arms co. whitworth and volunteer reproduction military...

Both will be tacky if not done properly. The trick is to warm the oil first either by itself or cut with real turpintine and warmed. Then apply it to the stock by hand / fingers working it into the grain with a rubbing motion. After the finish has...

1Hawkeye replied to a thread Knight rifles in Muzzleloading.
Your going to need the breach plug, a 1/4-28 nipple and the cocking piece/striker assembly not to mention a breach plug wrench. The bk-92 black knight used the same parts as the mk-85 it just had a plainer stock.
