Scrounge replied to a thread the price of an axe in Camping Gear
You're comparing an golden apple to a lingon berry. That axe is handmade. It's not machine made for sale to someone who needs a small axe now and then. It's for folks who live in the woods, and like traditional equipment. THIS is closer to what...

I'm too cheap to buy a chuck that's that expensive, and if you don't tighten it properly, it will spin and destroy your drill bits. I have a couple of Jacobs key-type chucks that are at least 50 years old, and in way better condition than I am. I'll...

A magnet from an old hard drive can provide such a place, too. Combine that with a piece of 1/16" aircraft cable to prevent it growing legs and wandering off. Bill

De Nada! Lots of good info in there. As you'll see! Especially good at provoking you to take a new look at stuff you probably already have. Bill

That table has t-slots, and you can use T-nuts on the clamps. With a drill press, and a hacksaw and files, you can make your own T-nuts, too. Check the threads on the clamps, and see if they match the clampdown set you bought. If not, make a few...

Add a bit of ascorbic acid, too, and you'll probably get a bit closer to the lemon flavor. Vitamin C. Bill

BrassMagnet replied to a thread New box? in Pay It Forward
Could I suggest that it be a one-time PIF and not a traveling PIF? Continuing PIFs seem to end up causing problems. Setting it up as a drawing would also be better in my humble opinion. More fair to the interested rather than fair to the fastest...

Scrounge replied to a thread Sporting Goods Clerks in Our Town
Depends on where you were, I guess. Mom and Dad had to get married because I was on the way. Mom was 15, Dad was 17. Mom had to buy BB's for his BB gun because she was a legal adult as a married woman. I was born the middle of the year, and she...

OS OK, while your mold is sitting there, the aluminum jack stand is sucking the heat out of it. You might want to consider putting an insulating mat on it to slow the heat loss. Soldering blocks for jewelry makers come in a bunch of materials and...

Sent RCBS an e-mail asking weather a pan for a 5-0-5 scales was still available. Got an e-mail back that said it was and they were sending me one under warranty replacement. Just cannot say enough about RCBS customer service. It's great.
