Just saying, sand works as a good temporary to see if you like Gluboolits but if your going to be doing them a lot, invest in a mold. It will save you a ton of time having to keep re-forming sand and than inspecting to make sure none went in the...

Iíve had good luck with the Dillon powder measure system as well as my old Belding and Mull powder measure. My Dillon can be adjusted to be accurate throw to throw within 1/10th of a grain. Powder bars on the Star reloaders are also fairly...

I built an entire shooting box for recovering gluboolits (see earlier post) and found they retain their shape and elasticity for several shootings before they finally split into pieces. Spent an afternoon testing them and found that out of the 50 I...

StuBach replied to a thread SS pins or chips???? in Cast Boolits
I have been using chips for several years now and never had any chips get stuck in flash holes or primer pockets. Only reason I switched over to pins was cause they provide a marginally smoother finish in my opinion. I havenít had any pins stuck yet...

Never hurts to post a WTB thread either. List how much your looking for and see what others offer. Worst case it goes unanswered.

+1 on checking the Swapping and selling or posting a WTB thread (in S+S) for lead ingots. Many of our members here are more than fair with their pricing. Also, check local scrap yards and just see what they have in the lead bin. Might be you get...

I have done both as well but found chips clean nooks and crannies (primer pockets and grooves) better but SS pins leave a cleaner finish. Chips, for me at least, gave a very smooth finish that almost had a bead blasted appearance as opposed to...

Given the effort and scrap (zink, iron, clips, etc) I have never seen value in paying more than $30 per bucket. If I can sort it at a scrap yard and make sure everything is quality than the value is different but in my area about 20-30% of any...
