Looking at a Henry Long Ranger in .308. Anyone shot one, any good? Would be used for hunting and putting holes in paper. I have an AR10 in .308 and thought I could use the same ammo in both if needed.

I live in the Indianapolis area which has a Canadian goose problem. I am outside of town limits and have a pond, have several trying to live on it so will only have to step on the porch with my .25-20 WCF Marlin or the .22 MARLIN.

The Last Battle, A Dog's Request

If it should be that I grow weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

Don't let your grief then...

The reds have over run us this year. My ideal gun is my Marlin .25-20WCF Model 1894 that was made in 1907 or shortly thereafter. The special-order 26" barrel is 2" longer than the standard 24" for this model. Folding front sight has an ivory bead,...

I have a pair of 1860's used in SASS that I had a dovetails cut and sights installed. Sights are filled to match the barrel. They also have 51 Navy grips which make a lot of people think they are 61 Navies.

I use a custom RCBS mold that drops at 335 gr that is 1.280" long. It is designed for my rifle chamber and is good to about 600 yards but has hit targets at 1000 yards but not consistent. Twest is either 12 or 14, I can't get a constant count.
