If your main purpose is just for plinking I would probably choose the 32 H&R magnum. Easy to get brass , strait walled so easy to load with carbide dies, brass lasts forever, cast bullets can range from super light to whatever length you can get...

I have made a mold for jig heads and weight forward lures and they worked good for fishing lures. Boolit molds I have modified a few mostly by shortening the length by milling off some of the topside and re drilling and tapping for the sprue plate....

Last year My wife and I moved and the house we bought had just a small opening in the soffit at the rear of the house. I was seeing starlings flying up and wiggling their way into the hole. I finally got a ladder out and started pulling the panels...

That sounds like to much unique , if you are after a load that will give you the highest velocity with a 125 gr. bullet you need a slower powder than unique. Jedman

YES !! That is very COOL ! I am sure I have a old 22 rifle or shotgun that needs some custom work like that. I will try my hand at the carving someday when I get a idea where to start at. Jedman

Not that I no of. I do have a early Stevens tip up rifle I rebarreled to 38 special, and a no. 1 1/2 Remington rolling block in 38 spl. I did shoot a whitetail with the tip up with a good ethical kill. Jedman

Most factory chambered handi rifles in 357 have a very generous chamber that many people have found will chamber the 360 Dan Wesson cartridge. 200 gr. Cast should be able to be loaded out way longer to a OAL at least .200 longer than sammi specs for...

Well deer season is over for this year so he has almost another year to practice shooting and possibly using different rifles. By next season I would let him choose the rifle he is most confident in and shoots the most accurately. If he sticks with...

Your breechblock is from a early model that was chambered for the 50-70 or one of the shorter 50 cal. cartridges. Being the 30-40 case has a large rim it may be usable if welded up and cut or filed to fit the smaller case. Jedman

Even the 25 auto can be effective. Back in the late 70’s a guy I knew ( Gary ) was assaulted by 2 other guys who wanted to kill him but were both shot dead by center of mass shots from Gary’s 25 auto. Sadly GÓry was put in jail at the time to await...

This is kinda sorta related. I have a single shot handi rifle in 280 Rem. and the die set I have is the Lee 2 die collet neck sizing only set. After about 3 times firing neck sized brass in that rifle the shoulder moves forward enough that you...

Sadly there were no dumps in the area I grew up in. My father was born in 1923 and the only gun he ever owed was a Win. M 67 and it was his rat gun. I heard there were several places in the city that you could shoot rats with 22 shorts and no one...

Jedman replied to a thread 375 Win build in Leverguns
When you send JES a 30-30 for a rebore to 38-55 he does the whole job and you get the rifle back ready to shoot. You don’t need to remove the barrel first and once you have it as a 38-55 you wount ever want to reinstall a 30-30 barrel back on it. ...

Jedman replied to a thread 375 Win build in Leverguns
The Marlin and Winchester are two different actions to deal with. A Marlin will allow barrels from Models 336, 375, 1894, & 1895 to interchange all the same thread. Now a Win 94 in 30-30 or even a 94 AE in 30-30 will not allow a BB 375 Win. barrel...
