I have only owned 1 Contender that was in 44 mag + a 22 LR barrel and it never suited me so it was sold or traded years ago. Out of the calibers you have I also would probably choose the 7 x 30 Waters as I like the cartridge a lot but where I have...

. Great choice ! They are still one of the real bargains still out there. If I had a Academy store near me I would buy a few more myself. Jedman

After reading many of the points about stopping a grizzly bear with a handgun it makes me remember a video I watched recently about knock down power of large caliber rifles by Ron Spomer. What he says in the video rings true with many of my...

I bought two yesterday at a large flea market, A early Savage 1899 A in 30-30, and a Remington Rider no. 9 single shot 12 ga. The no. 9 just might become a 50-70 rifle, I love the side cocker and it will look period correct at least to me. Jedman

Hi Rich, I have a bunch of martinis, 22’s , cadets, Zeller, Martini Henry’s, and Greeners and they all have good triggers without doing anything to them. Possibly someone before you played with the trigger / cocking lever engagement and made it...

That is a stunning looking rifle ! Great craftsmanship. I planned on making a version of the Chicopee CF rifle but have bought so many project guns to work on that I may never get to it ? Your work is beautiful ! Jedman

I have a Marlin M 1892 in 32 CF that has excessive headspace. It wasn’t really causing any problems shooting the gun with the extremely low powered handloads but I wanted to try to fix it. I removed the lever and bolt and carefully hammered the end...
