Rugerm77: First, Welcome to the forum. Good looking old press. As Pacific was bought up( Absorbed) in to Hornady YEARS ago, this may be a hard to find item. That said I believe this is a good place to ask. Maybe others have suggestions....

Dom: First step, make up a dummy round with those PC'd bullets and make sure they chamber in your Douglas barrels throat. The added nose diameter can sometimes cause chambering problems, especially with bore riders. Gp

Jim: I've had good luck using the Stoney Point headspace gauges (Now Hornady I believe) Once you have a fired case, just set your dies up to bump the shoulder .002 or .003 and you're good. Gp

Gas checks, like everything else in our hobby, aren't a one size fits all thing. The size of the shank of the bullet you cast compared to the drive bands of the same should be measured. If there is a .020 difference the .011 aluminum would be a good...

mtgrs737: Your load seems to be working just fine for you and seems to me to be a top end load but not excessive. Don't seat that load to a deeper COL if you come across a short throated 9mm. Lots of them out there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!...

I've never had any worries about overshot cards. I use them with buckshot, round ball or slugs when, like mentioned above it gives a better base for the roll crimp or helps build your stack. My favorite for round ball and slugs is the BPI hard...

One of the handiest set of tools that I own for revolvers is the .251 to .500 pin gauges. With these, I measure the throats and size my bullets to that and not the bore measurement. My bullets are cast of lead from 30to1 up to a BHN of about 12...

243winxb: I'd send the barrel to Doug guy and have it throated. A lot of pistols these days just aren't built to shoot cast bullets. I had a Ruger 45ACP that would choke on cast bullets no matter the size. Doug throated it and polished the ramp and...

I have to brag a little bit about my new Accurate mould the 43-200QL. I own a Ruger 44-40 Vaquero, the one with the over sized 44mag barrel barrel. Doug Phillips opened the throats for me but there is only so much bullet you can stuff into the neck...
