Why is that? The AR in AR-15 stands for “Armalite Rifle” after the original designing company not assault or automatic rifle.

Theirs lives depended on them. They would have learned to make them work properly. A good flinter setup is very reliable and it has a surprisingly quick lock time.

I just got finished putting a 3 prong grounded plug on the little 4 pounder. The Lee 4/20 comes from the factory with a grounded plug. Go figure… ground on one but not the other.

My guess is its a result of the bullet still being too hot when you opened the mold. Reduce the alloy temp or let the bullet stay in the mold a little longer. The coarse crystalline is common with harder alloys when you crack the bullet when the...

This past week I with a friend at his brothers house. He was seating some Large Rifle Primers into 22-250 cases with a round tray Lee Auto-Prime. He was placing them shoulder down in the loading tray after priming. I noticed the edge of a primer...

Everything mass produced is manufactured to a tolerance. Reloaded ammo is not any different. If it's safe and it functions while meeting your performance requirements it's good enough. If you are a top level 1,000 yard Benchrest competitor...

I dunno how bumping without follow-up sizing works. Bumping is a wag at best with no control of where on the bullet the swelling occurred. A sizer kinda smooths everything out and provides a standard where each bullet is at least marginally the...

yeah, some more info would be interesting. It seems like the heat transfer couldn't be as fast or as complete as the submersion in a liquid. The liquid is in total and complete contact with the surface of the brass. Beads or fine silica would...

I guess it all depends on what you see and what your friend is asking, but if the prices seems reasonable I'd probably try to buy the whole lot. Those you don't want or need can easily be swapped for what you need in swap-n-sale. I picked up...

That is under ideal circumstances. Actual testing indicates 20 degree temps reduce range by 41% and zero temps about 60%. Mpls junked it's 500 million dollars worth of electric buses for this reason. Same for hot weather and AC usage.

this from Mk42gunner; and this from gwpercle; got me thinking. so I broke out the Lee 4 pounder pot, used the same alloy drained from the 4/20, lightly fluxed once with a bit of beeswax, prewarmed the mold at the 4 setting (versus the...

Catkiller45, my thought exactly, how much "TOO small" for your Henry rifle are your boolits? An oven thermometer, a cheapo toaster oven (new or from a thrift store) and a pound of PC powder is about all you need. At least for a look see, or...

The problem with too much engagement,is if you eject the cartridge, the bullet is likely to stay in the bore. Better to have a good throat fit.
