Tanks for the contact info, i have a mad mate yet to look at it and get his 2c worth and if he can't do it, it will need someone with fancier gear than we have to fix it. I do have a spare brand new motor, so i do have some time to repair the...

Not much more progress, the carousel is installed, i have fitted a set of moulds so i can rotate it and it clunks as it goes over the parts that open the mould. I'm not sure if i have it adjusted right, but looking at it, it doesn't appear to be...

When i was younger and i thought "smarter" (2 years or so ago) i was unaware that mixed hitek powder does indeed go off if left in the Brisbane heat, even though it was in a shed, it clumped up and did not dissolve once being left for a few months....

Not always just the colours not being right, it could have been samples that the chemistry was not yet sorted out for that colour, hense the testing and no point keeping them. An interesting thing would be to test a known good sample that is as...

I tried mine with 48v battery setup, as i didn't have a power supply that was big enough, it worked, but not as well as i hoped.

No matter what green i got off him, i'd say it was wrong :) Not sure why my wife calls me a butt head, but this may have something to do it with..... I never knew there was a green V2, one day we need to make up a colour chart of all your colours...

Not dumb at all, you're smart enough to not mess with something that can kill you if you did something wrong. I grew up building dick smith kits, they had great information on mains wiring, yet now that is a BIG no no, but still, i learnt early. ...

I don't believe there is a performance issue, others have done it before. If you are just playing for yourself and don't care that each batch will be different, i don't believe it's a problem.

It had a few washers on the ends to limit side to side movement, my plan was to make shims to replace the washers that were worn. There was side to side play, i'll make sure i take all that up with the new shims. How they mount on the end of the...

Not much to update, having issues with the single phase VFD, it's possible the drive is too small to power the motor, but it is also putting out odd voltages, i don't know if that is just due to my multi-meter not reading correctly due to how the...

My lee 6 bangers when i used them, were hard to get the sprues to drop. I'd make sure i laid enough lead on them to join them all up, but i'd need to beat on them pretty hard to get them to release the long sprue. I'd like to think the bigger the...

That was my concern with brass moulds too, all mine are aluminium or steel/cast iron. It has always concerned me with how to remove it if it was to actually stick in a cavity Looking forward to hearing how you go with your casting session.

Jatz - I'm wondering if the added warming effect of when the cast enter the oven helps to dry them that last little bit if needed, as they don't just get whacked to 200c in one hit, they slowly get exposed to the IR heat so they warm up slower as...
