    You can definitely buy external USB cabled DVD read / write drives, plug them in, add free software if needed, then burn DVDs or CD-Rs for recovery media or whatever. And the drives aren't very costly, $20 or so iirc

    No, she wouldn't be. A momcat we had years ago, would grab mice, spin her head about 180 degrees, and throw them 30 feet or so, then run and pounce on them again. She really enjoyed doing that. And another cat would bring his broken prey to us...
