I really did not notice he was gone. I know he sure liked to argue with me and most on here about everything under the sun. Guess some people are like that. I wish him well in his new life "over there".

I was looking at my "stach" of many powders and most were in the $20-22/# range from a few years ago. A few were $17! At the rate I am casting and reloading now, those bottles (most are new & unopened) will last me many years! All from LGS's. I use...

Read the label on the spool or package. It will tell you the exact % contents. None of them will have Pb these daze. Different brands will vary but the bulk of the "silver" metal in there is Sn, a harmless non-carcinogenic, friendly metal.

Get a 2nd job or win the lottery. The equipment (if you buy it) is totally ridiculous in price. Not worth the price to me! I could make most, if not all, of it in my machine shops. But if you shoot 10's of thousands of "need to be swaged"...

The price I mentioned was for a QUART CAN of special paint, not a lousy rattle can. I have painted many items out of that quart can and have a lot left, unlike rattle cans that are mostly vehicle and propellant and a little real paint mixed in.

You picked this hobby by choice. Now you either live with those prices or find something else to do with your time as I have done. Prices will eventually calm down but nothing near what you referred to in the 60's. :violin: banger

The local auto paint store is your friend! Not Lowes. Not Home Depot, Not Ace Hardware. As said, take it with you and they will color/laser match it 100%. Won't be cheap!!!!!! I paid $37 for a quart of custom-blend special "tool green" but...
