You don't tell us much. What guns what caliber for starters. There are NUMEROUS threads covering the 45 ACP 1911 feeding there is a current thread where the OP PC'd boolits and had the same issues, his issue was solved by throating the barrel...

My response was to JimB's post: Also, Sizing to the same diameter as throats leaves you no "wiggle" room for boolits that grow .0002" ~ .0004" while age hardening as they sit until they are used. It also leaves no room for any out of...

This is still incorrect. Size to fit THE THROATS. Sizing smaller than the cylinder throats, i.e. randomly picking .452" and sizing to that dimension will insure the fact that you have leading and poor groups *IF* in fact your throats are .454." ...

Well, can't argue with those groups for one, and for two, you are better off than most getting ANY bit of a .452" proud of the case mouth to plunk with the RO barrels. Jerry Keefer built the 9mm that won jeez how many matches? .100" parallel...

This would make for a very fair comparison of throated vs. non throated. If you read what I wrote about the function of freebore as an alignment tool this facilitates a consistent engagement in the rifling which the abrupt entry into the rifling of...

I replied in your other thread that you may benefit from a pound cast of your chamber and throat to get accurate measurements of what would be your maximum diameter boolit you could use, this would need to come before diving much deeper into what...

It may benefit you to do a pound cast of the chamber and throat, this would tell you the maximum diameter boolit you could use without interference, your rifle is showing you that accuracy could be improved considerably by fitting the boolit to the...

Without milling the frame window and increasing the OD of the cylinder, you are only gaining very little by moving the bolt notch between chambers since the outer wall thickness will be the same.

These are notoriously tight and it is the norm for them to be rather egged. They respond quite well to honing throats, accuracy is tweaked very noticeably afterwards. Most of what comes into the shop goes out at .3125" for use with .312" boolits...

I had to learn the hard way that using asterisks or a random string of characters to hide a word was skirting the word filter! It was not an attempt by me to get around the word filter, as in trying to trick it, but the board sorta views it in that...

Never heard so much squabbling over something that doesn't even enter the picture. *IF* you use a .356" in 9mm, the FCD WILL NOT size it down in the case. .357" it depends on the individual FCD as there are variances, they are not all created...

^^ This... The OP asks if a 38 Spl is loaded to xxx number of ft lbs of energy, do we need a 357? the answer would lie in the scenario surrounding the requirements of the boolit. As previously stated, for most purposes, the +P 38 is fine. I...

There is only two ways to do this, fit the boolit to the throat, OR fit the throat to the boolit. Both methods have their pros and cons. The latter is considerably safer than the first and generally feeds much better.

Ok one step at a time.. 1st step: Factory FMJ are .451" in diameter, non PC'd which makes the ojive considerably less forward than a PC'd .452" boolit. 2nd step: Doug does excellent work to have him ream the throat is fixing the pistol to...

Your Springfield is notoriously known for short or no throat in the barrel. To pass the plunk test you probably have to seat boolits MUCH deeper in the case than you would want to, obviously deeper than any published load data specifies, this is...
