Last Thursday I was going to the shelter to get that 11 month old Lab/pit mix but I felt like crap so I decided to wait. That night around midnight I told my wife that I thought I was dying. Went to the ER and I was almost right. I was having a...

Truthfully, I always gave pit bulls the benefit of the doubt. It was how they were raised, treated, etc. I liked the way they look, I liked their temperament. But, like other full blooded breeds, breeding has gone haywire in some of them. When I...

If...now, think about it...if your dog had been attacked four (4) times in a year and a half, by a particular breed, let's call it, I don't know...pit bull, for absolutely no known reason, and one of those attacks included me getting bit and costing...

I had too much time on my hands several years ago. C&B shooters used to make round punches and punch lube pills out of lube sheets but that seemed like alot of wasted lube. There's no waste with these, and you can cut the pills as needed. I also...

When I said, "What kind of idiot would load a cap and ball like that," I was referring to the test that the article writer conducted. Of course, if you load the gun with grease and sprinkle BP over it and don't clean anything, you'll have problems....

The old "what causes a chain fire" discussion. I've had two, each caused by a defective mold that produced irregularly shaped roundballs. My suggestion to the OP was to reduce the powder charge with no wad/grease and see if the ball seats further...

Exactly what I was wondering. Damn, I've been doing it all wrong for a long, long time. To the OP: try 18 gr FFFG (or less) with no lube, no wad, nothing, just to see if the balls set without pulling out.

I'm not dumping on pit bulls - if you own one and find them to be great dogs, well that's cool. I do not want to be in the same room with a full bred pit bull. As I've said a few times, my last dog, 95 lbs, was attacked by four different pit bulls...

I couldn't agree more. But, what about a Lab with some pit bull? I'm going back to see the dog that I mentioned - mostly Lab, maybe some pit bull. I am definitely leaning towards taking him home, based on his personality, energy, size,...

For the heck of it, drop the load down to 18 grs without the wad, and grease/lube over the ball. Do you cast the roundballs or buy them?

I'm still looking for a dog. The black shepherd that I visited four or five times is not a good fit. Now, I had four real bad experiences with pit bulls with my last dog - they attacked him (he was 95 lbs) for no friggin' reason. I don't trust...

It's the front drop-down grip that's a problem. Mine doesn't have one. I bought it in MA and the dealers here are extra cautious about what they sell. Apparently the pistol grip you're talking about is fine. And then again, maybe the drop down...

It has a threaded muzzle, but no scary pistol grip. And the 10 rd mag is no problem because that's all we're allowed. It's a shame that we don't have a republican governor...oh wait, we do. We also had another republican governor named Romney. ...

The biggest problem would be if I needed someone to take him for a day, or let him out, feed him, etc. I'm working this in my mind every which way but I'm thinking it might not work. I'll see how he is next week.

I'll keep the stock spring compression in mind. I haven't shot it yet but how much recoil does a 9mm produce? I might buy another mag. Here in MA we're limited to 10 rounds. That little screwdriver/wrench tool that came with it is pretty handy....

Yep, you nailed it. They told me today, for the first time, that the dog bit one of the young workers awhile back. Not a bad bite, not an attack, but more of a hand grab. That's why they're doing what they're doing. The problem is that, even if...

I've gotten two dogs at shelters, out of nine. The other seven found us, which included three purebreds. We haven't had a dog for two years. It's time. Churchill said that the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man. Same with dogs.

I missed out on a Remington Rolling Block M1867 at a gun show last week, but I found another RB at a store not too far away. I went and checked it out - it was in tough shape, and the caliber was unknown - either 43 Spanish or 43 Egyptian. Someone...
