I have a nephew who lives in Arizona. Today he attended The Crossroads 3-Day Phoenix Gun Show. To my understanding, it's always been 'the big one' for that part of the south west. He's always on the watch for good deals (aren't we all?) and primers...

There haven't been any primers on the shelves in either of the two shops in my area in quiet sometime now. I was in one of them yesterday and the owner told me he finally has some primers on the way, no mention as to how many though. I'm sure he'll...

Bigslug, Thanks for the suggestion. That's a nice looking bullet, but I'm old school and never gave tumble lubing a try. I'm just interested in a nice looking spire point bullet. Thanks again though. Murphy

An oddity for sure. Looking at the photos, I noticed the primer edges were still rounded and look fine, not like it took a lot of pressure for the case to give. I wonder if CCI/Speer would be interested in the case for examination? Something went...

dverna, It will a .308. I have a Stevens Model 200 from back when they were going cheap. I picked it up new and topped it off with a Nikon 3X9 as a back up gun for deer season. I'm not as mad at deer as I once was. I found a decent jacketed load...

I have very little experience in casting rifle bullets. Actually, only the Lyman design #311041 years back. Now I'm looking for a new adventure using a different .30 caliber mold. My #311041 was from long ago on a group buy here on the board and...

The wife and I used a firm recommended by our investment broker. We also took care of our funeral arrangements, she's 73 and I turn 68 next month. I never asked what it all amounted to in the end having our affairs in order. But I will say this, it...

I haven't seen (and may have missed) any reports of how the show went. Gun prices, reloading supplies, ammunition? Anyone attend that would like to give their input on how things are going in the gun shows? Thanks, Murphy

Ahhhhhh ~ The Bay ~. It was once truly a great place, not so much anymore. I can't remember which came first, their forcing people to have PayPal or coming out of the closet as anti 2A. Either way, I began using it less and less. I sold a fair...

~The Tinsel Fairy~ Pre-heat everything, including ingots you are about to add to a molten pot of alloy. Double this if you're in a high humidity part of the world. Cast in an area you have a bit of room to run if need be. That's all I have to say...

Yep, some of us seem to age sooner than we thought. I'll turn 68 next month and never dreamed I'd be in the shape I'm in. A couple of stints 7-8 years back, a pacemaker a little over a year ago (AFIB). I retired July 31st two years back. Never...

About Odfanatic
I'm a life-long Tennesseean. I enjoy fishing for trout, bass, and catfish a little, but I shoot a whole lot more.

Reading history and biography books takes up a lot of time when I'm not doing homework or workin'. Topics might include U. S. and Tennessee history,The Bible, U.S. Army and TN Army National Guard doctrine and materials, real leaders and the soldiers that enabled them (Andrew Jackson, Daniel Boone, James Robertson, John Sevier, Sam Houston, Alvin York, Davy Crockett, The Bell Witch [of Adams, TN lore], Stonewall Jackson, George Washington, George S. Patton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur) The Revolution, The "Wild" West (How was any it wilder than the present?), The War of Northern Oppression, WWI & WWII, etc., along with some fiction (usually literature "classics").

Some movie favorites (in random order) are Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider", Joel Cohen's "The Big Lebowski", John Irvin's "Hamburger Hill", Stuart Rosenberg's "Cool Hand Luke", Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove", and Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs".

Reloading for handguns began around November 2010, and for the following calibers: 9mm, .40 S&W (for Generation 4 Glocks including the 17, 26 & 23), .44 Magnum and Special (S&W Model 29-10 and my Henry Big Boy .44), and .45 ACP (Sig Sauer P220).

Since starting out with a single stage RCBS Rock Chucker and then quickly graduating to a Dillon RL550-B, I've developed an interest in single action revolvers, lever guns, and the associated history of their development along with the different calibers. I am excited to begin modifying my first Colt SAA clone, a blued 4-3/4" European Arms "Bounty Hunter" chambered in .45 Long Colt.

Respectfully- Randy
