Awww man! This is flipping me out. I can just see walking into one of our local dispensaries and asking to buy a matchbox. If the kid don't get it or never heard of it? Fine then, can I get a brick? Murphy

Thanks Ric! Who knows? Maybe if enough of them get tired of having to talk to customers, they may bring back actual people answering the phone. Murphy

I remember thinking how neat it was when automated answering machines started. Then it dawned on me, they put untold thousands of people out of jobs. Step two, when some companies realized a lot of their calls a live person would need to be...

Sad to see him go. I had read recently he was in failing health. I think it would serve a lot of good if kids today had a role model like Johnny to watch instead of holding a phone in their hand or some video game console control. Murphy

I feel for those who got caught short handed on supplies during this shortage, regardless of how or why. I was in one of my local shops this past week and the owner was on the phone talking about reloading to a friend. His friend was as...

It's good to see Remington is back online producing ammunition. I'm sure more than a few people are happy to find anything at this point and time. It's a rare occasion for me to purchase factory ammunition. After all, this site is dedicated to...

I respect every ones privacy and what they wish to reveal about their location, it's up to the individual and I'm fine with that. If I have a need to know where they are, I'll simply send a PM and ask them, pretty simple. Regarding people who...

I'm 67 years old now, I can't remember when a pocket knife became part of my daily attire. I grew up in Oklahoma City, they didn't do the school lockdown thing over a pen knife, etc. back in those days. So it's really hard to say just how long I've...

I was discussing this early today with a long time friend and fellow shooter. Given all the items LEE produces and sells, what takes priority in trying to 'catch up'? Good question huh? Murphy

.22 centerfires utilizing 55 grain bullets have been legal for deer for 20 years or more in Oklahoma. For 90% plus of the deer taken in Oklahoma, a 220 Swift would have worked just fine. Murphy

Seems I live in the only county in Oklahoma showing multiple broods (far S.E. corner of the state). I've seen them come an go over the decades. I recall as far back as the late 50's and early 60's seeing them all over Oklahoma City when I lived...

The Grand Ole' 38 Special. It's been with us for 123 year's now (first produced in 1898). That speaks for itself when one thinks about it. What speaks even louder as I sit here and think about it, is how many handguns and rifles have been...

Basic Information

About Odfanatic
I'm a life-long Tennesseean. I enjoy fishing for trout, bass, and catfish a little, but I shoot a whole lot more.

Reading history and biography books takes up a lot of time when I'm not doing homework or workin'. Topics might include U. S. and Tennessee history,The Bible, U.S. Army and TN Army National Guard doctrine and materials, real leaders and the soldiers that enabled them (Andrew Jackson, Daniel Boone, James Robertson, John Sevier, Sam Houston, Alvin York, Davy Crockett, The Bell Witch [of Adams, TN lore], Stonewall Jackson, George Washington, George S. Patton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur) The Revolution, The "Wild" West (How was any it wilder than the present?), The War of Northern Oppression, WWI & WWII, etc., along with some fiction (usually literature "classics").

Some movie favorites (in random order) are Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider", Joel Cohen's "The Big Lebowski", John Irvin's "Hamburger Hill", Stuart Rosenberg's "Cool Hand Luke", Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove", and Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs".

Reloading for handguns began around November 2010, and for the following calibers: 9mm, .40 S&W (for Generation 4 Glocks including the 17, 26 & 23), .44 Magnum and Special (S&W Model 29-10 and my Henry Big Boy .44), and .45 ACP (Sig Sauer P220).

Since starting out with a single stage RCBS Rock Chucker and then quickly graduating to a Dillon RL550-B, I've developed an interest in single action revolvers, lever guns, and the associated history of their development along with the different calibers. I am excited to begin modifying my first Colt SAA clone, a blued 4-3/4" European Arms "Bounty Hunter" chambered in .45 Long Colt.

Respectfully- Randy
