I have both the worlds finest trimmer and the worlds cheapest trimmer. They are both fast and good. For 50 or less I don't have a WFT or WCT so I use one of the Lee trimmers.

farmerjim replied to a thread Moving a beehive. in Our Town
I worked 4 of my hives this morning. One was overloaded with bees and honey. I added a second deep brood box and a third honey super. The bees were quite aggressive and swarmed all over me. I am glad that I had a full suit on rather than the half...

farmerjim replied to a thread Moving a beehive. in Our Town
I got up well before daylight yesterday morning to move a hive to my friends place about 4 miles away. There were more bees on the outside of the box than inside. It is just too hot. I guess I will have to make a new hive from several of the frames...

Put .03% salt in the water. The pools around here. that have salt chlorine generators are covered with bees. My bees will ignore the pond next to them and go to my neighbors pool.

Use a 5 gal propane cylinder cut at the top bend and a turkey firer. I can make a 200 lb batch of one alloy. Scoop the melt out with a large ladle.

I can do 1,000 an hour with 2 lee 6 cavity 358-125-RF molds. My lyman mag 25 starts out full and is full when I finish. I preheat Ingots to just below melting and continuously add them as soon as there is room. I wish that I could do 2k an hour.
