Don’t forget that bullets cast with an alloy containing antimony can continue to expand in diameter for a month after casting. Wait 4 to 5 weeks after casting to size, particularly if the bullet dropped at a small diameter from the mold. Also...

From the Redding-SAECO catalog: Bullet Sizes & Weights – How to Vary Them The bullet diameters and weights presented in this list are based on the use of Taracorp’s Lawrence Magnum bullet alloy (2% tin, 6% antimony, 1/4% arsenic, 91.75% lead)....

greenjoytj replied to a thread Beeswax clean up in Boolit Lube !
Try putting your hand in nitrile rubber gloves for a few hours. Natural hand sweat should lift the wax off skin. Wax floats on water thatís why a sweating beer bottle will leave a white ring on furniture, the wax has been lifted. Maybe apply hand...

Wilson trimmer, after market micrometer head replacement for the Wilson OME head from Sinclair International. The straight wall rimmed pistol cases required a “Q-type” case holder. Without a taper on the case to jam the case tight into the case...

I use a wood dowel same diameter as the inside of my PVC mold tube. I give the dowel a wack with deadblow hammer the cold lube stick pops right out. As the lube cools it shrinks and pulls away from the wall of the mold. The hammer blow easily...

greenjoytj replied to a thread Too Much Crimp? in Cast Boolits
My loads are 250 gr cast Lyman 452664 over 35 grs. of Old Eynsford or Campro FCP 250 gr. over 9.2 grs. of CFE-Pistol all with a CCI 350 mag primer. I thought at least the plated bullet would have flattened out the roll crimp, but no it didn’t.

After firing my Win 73 or Ruger NV with my 45 Colt hand loads, charged with either smokeless or black powder the case mouth crimp always remains slightly rolled in. A new bullet can not be slipped into the fired cases. I though the roll crimp...

I would be interested in 22 Hornet mold info too. Didn’t Rock Chuck Bullet Swage Co. (RCBS) get started with 22 cal cast bullets inserted into spent 22 rimfire cases swaged to form brass jacked 22 Hornet bullets?

Thank You Tmanbuckhunter your further text explanation and photo of the math makes the concept perfectly clear to me now. It turns out that I have been doing powder compression to approximately equal my bullet base to crimp point measurement. My...

RCBS BULLET MOULD .45-255-SWC 424 and the design tweaked version RCBS .45-270-SAA 424 are supposed to be very good bullets. I might buy one of these after a little more research. I donít know if a SWC will feed smoothly into a Win M73 rifle. I...

The 454190 and clone looks rather pointy with the small diameter meplat, is it safe to use in a tube magazine rifle? How far up the ogive is the crimp applied? With no actual crimp groove to prevent the bullet from telescoping into the cartridge...
