Hornet seem the logical choice if for no other reason than the original outer stampings would amount to "kinda, sorta".

NICE! You're gonna have fun with that! I've often thought that for colonial Africa, where you might have to deal with anything on two legs or four, the tube fed version was among the best options available for quite a spell.

Not launched from a 10mm, but a WFN 180 grain 10mm bullet cast of 20-1 & launched into milk jugs from a .38-40 '73 Winchester to test the rifle before the custom mold arrived. Perhaps a bit over 10mm speeds. I think the concept is sound.

A: Try it in an institutional setting where you're dealing with a couple dozen guns at a time. Time consuming and probably not the healthiest passtime to undertake. I chuck a Brownell's Double-Tuff bush on a drill for the task. . .& it's still...

Don't even need to do that, just lube it and shoot it a lot on DA, and that will take care of itself. Probably won't even be ashamed it's not a Python - they polish up very nice after you run them a little. Solid frame with no sideplate on the...

We have alternately shot both Winchester and Federal rifled Foster slugs at work, and as the armorer, it's frequently my task to scrub the lead skid marks out of the smoothbores. Not the most entertaining chore on the planet. I've been wondering...

What was the line that got bounced around in The Ghost and the Darkness - "Can you control your fear?" The larger cartridges with big capacity and large bore volumes to expand their gas into are MUCH more forgiving of load variation than the...

I stocked up on the metal 5-rounders, but now do most of my playing with a 10-round plastic mag in both of my 452's simply due to twice as much bottle busting before a reload. They work well.

The irony in all of that was nobody was buying powder/primers/ammo during the Trump years - presumably due to a lack of urgency - and now we have a lot of Aesop's "starving grasshoppers".

This one's fairly easy. The Accurate Molds 31-170H and 170H1 are blueprinted out for the .308's neck. Diameter adjustments are no problem for Tom when you order (those two are conventional lube groove designs). The NOE/Ranch Dog TL311-178RF...

Getting kind of an interesting survey in barrel specs here: the OP running a .326" bullet in an unspecified maker, john.k with his .316" bullets in a Greener, me with my BSA and it's .3185"groove /.312" bore... As with early Lee Enfields,...

There is also the fatalistic way of looking at this. Even if you have an infinite supply of ammunition, you only have one barrel to dispense it from, and you do not have an infinite amount of time to dispense it in. Give Wild Bill Hickok a Glock...

Starline brass. Next time I'm down at Dad's (where we have the space to make the magic happen) , I'll have to go back and look at the how the Dillon toolhead is set up (it's taken me 6 years to go through the first 1000 rounds), but the original...

+1, if you can manage this. It's helpful to know and if you figure out where the straight up linotype lives, that'll be in-demand stuff.

Like Baltimoreed, mine is one of the .32-20 reamer conversions. Not that this will convert exactly to an unaltered/lower capacity .310 Cadet chamber with heeled bullets (read, "work up to your load"), but I'm running a .320" 130 grain conventional...

If you're going to scope it, pick the CZ that gives you the warmest fuzzy feeling. If you're going to run irons, the 457 Jaguar uses their already excellent sights on a 28" barrel, which puts the front one out where old guys can actually see it.

My primary question for those doing it is "What will it feed?" If I were to do this, my main attraction would be to an aggressive flat point in the 150-ish grain range like the NOE/Ranch Dog. Given that it's a gun designed for com-bloc 123 grain...

Nice! Experiencing some jealousy. If I could wave a magic wand and have mine become a .357, I would. As it is, "Binky-Roo" shoots very well with the blown out .32-20 conversion it came in, which I've waffled between whether to call the ".32-20...

Lyman lists 4.2 grains of Unique as getting you to 841 fps out of a 4" barrel on a "Universal Receiver" which tells me they were probably running a TC Contender with no cylinder gap to bleed pressure from. That said, I'd say your 900 fps estimate...
