A while in the tumbler, those bullets should clean up OK. In the old days, I'd go to guns shows a hour or two before the event closed. Back then, there were lots of guys that would buy a table or two to sell a few things, and clear out all...

Way cool. If I'd ever seen flare rounds-- I'd have bought a few just to play around with.

I love gun shows. The best ones are the ones with very few dealers, I like digging through junk boxes a lot more than endless tables of black rifles and modern auto pistols.

Seems like a lot of trouble for pretty colors. Some liquid alox and you'd have been shooting already.

I got one of these which will eventually go on my Winchester 69A. Just the ticket for a diminutive little .22 or similar. I want a rook rifle like the OP is building. Have a really nice little Iver Johnson .410 they found in my uncle's stuff...

Eugene Stoner originally designed the AR-15 with a 1:14 twist barrel, firing a 55gr bullet. The first Colt 601's were 14 twist. If I remember correctly winter testing showed instability issue and they switched to 12 twist. The 7 twist came with...

About 25 years ago, I had a new factory Federal .30-06 do that. I returned it to the address on their box. I'm still waiting to hear back.

I used to subscribe to F&S just to read Bill Heavy on the last page, then sort of got away from it. Most of the rest of the magazine is right up there with what I call 'the gun comic books'.

I've used the Saeco 190gn GC mold for over 30 years. In my rifle the nose just rides the top of the lands and accuracy id very good!

These are excellent quality scopes, copies of the baby Redfields from a few decades ago. https://www.grubee.net/products/copy-of-4x-wolfpup-duplex-1

I'd work up the fastest, safest, most accurate load and not over think this. If ya hit a deer with a well placed shot from either of those at handgun speeds, it will die just as fast with a soft boolit, as a hard one. If you're concerned...

I'd also bring a pump shotgun and a few empty soda and milk bottles with some water in them to throw up in the air.

    I'd bring a S&W Model 25, a couple of Model 10's, a Single Six, and a Winchester 62A. Oh yeah...and LOTS of ammo!

I've switched over to 'One Shot', and spray it into the case neck as well as outside. In the past, I've worn down a few expander balls by them being dry and dragging too much as they come out of the case. After sizing, the de-primed cases get...

I use one of those smallish mesh laundry bags. I put the brass in it and wash in the sink in dish soap and water. I then rinse the brass and put it in a baking pan outside in the AZ sun for a couple of hours. I've been doing this for years and it...

Just finished casting 500+ boolits for a friend. The mold casts 0.324" and were put through a 0.324" sizer.

That's how I do it with the slightly lighter RCBS .45 SWC for a .1911 .45ACP. My alloy is mostly pure Lead with just enough precious wheel weights to get a good flow. Your mileage may vary, but since the mid-80s, I don't know how many thousands...

We don't have many reloaders at our range, much less casters. The range master lets me grab whatever I want as long as no one else is waiting to shoot. We have a row of plates on the pistol range, and there is always a layer of 'splats' right on...
