OP has 700X. I'd suggest starting at 5 gr and work +/- for a good load in the 750 - 850 fps range.

Promo is very similar to Red Dot. I use 6.0 grains of Bullseye with Accurate's 43-190W with excellent results in 44Mag cases. These are mild, very accurate target loads. If it were me, I'd drop that 6 grain Bullseye charge down a couple of grains to...

My findings also. With a GC'd bullet I find up through 1400 fps is good with 20-1. Above that I prefer 16-1.

Well it does take some time for the alloy to reach max hardness. My COWW +2% and 50/50'd usually hits 15 BHN +/- after 10 - 14 days. That is the equal of Lyman #2 BHN and thus is sufficient for most all cast bullet shooting. The objective was to...

The 20/1 alloy also works great in hollowpoint molds even at 45ACP velocities, as long as the range isn't pushed too far.

They certainly are deer hunting machines. My late father hunted with one passed down by his father, also a 303 Savage. Unfortunately, a bitter divorce from his 4th or 5th wife prevented any of us sons from inheriting much of anything.

Same here, and they will still work on the Lee molds. I do have one set of RCBS handles, and they do work the best for RCBS molds in my experience.

I have used a singe edged razor blade to get under the edge of the spatter and pry it up. Once you get it started it will usually peel easily, unless the surface is really rough. Kneepads are your friend!

Out of M1911s the old Cooper load of a 200/205 gr SWC loaded over 7.5 gr Unique runs 1000 +/-fps out of 5" barrels and will kill deer nicely with proper shot placement at a reasonable range . Also if a second and/or third shot is presented I take...

I will use them on true PB bullets. Might be ok at TD pressures with the Lee 405 HB but at the higher pressures for '86s, No 1s and my Siamese Mauser I won't even bother trying on the HB bullet. I already have a 45-300-FN, a 457483 and a...

You might try an alloy of COWW + 2% tin, then mix that with lead at 50/50. Water Quench the bullets right out of the mould. That will harden the bullets so they can be used at 1800 - 2000 fps. w/o any problems associated with too soft an alloy at...

"I'm looking for a GC 2-4 cav mold that will be accurate out to 100 yards. 1 moa if possible. Just for target shooting." I suggest the 30 XCB NOE 310-165-FN. It is a proven 1 moa bullet in several of my rifles including my 308W with 12" twist. ...

Your putting a 31 caliber bullet design into a 30 caliber bore. Thus the nose before the PC id probably .302 - .303 +/- instead of the .300 diameter +/- the nose needs to be to slip into the bore with a tight slip fit without "jamming". In that...

Winchester chambers for the M94 back then (pre 64) had very little "throat" In my pre 64 M94 if I use cases with necks long enough to just fit the chamber neck a 311041 seated to the crimp groove will just have the front edge of the drive band...

tried two bullets from Montana Bullet Works, the Lyman 457193 and 457643. I also tried a 405g FP from Missouri Bullet Co. I have Starline brass and Varget. Fed LG Rifle primers. Have tried 49-55g powder in all of these in 1g increments. Most...

It looks only slightly engraved to me, my opinion is that you should be fine.

A .318 cast bullet should work fairly well. The T53 (Chicom M44) I brought home from the late SE Asian war games has a real sewer pipe barrel. With the 3 rounds of ammo still in it when I picked it up it wouldn't hold a C-Ration cast lid at 50...

I've helped get a couple similar MNs shooting reasonably well with cast bullets. Might do a chamber cast as many MN chamber necks simply taper from chamber into the throat with little or no chamber mouth step. Trimming the cases to a shorter OAL...

Actually it came from the International Games (300 Meter rifle matches) held in Mexico City back in the early '60s. The US shooting team pulled the 174 FMJs from the XM118 7.62 and replaced the bullets with the Winchester 168 Match bullet . Some...

I have done it often with Russian 7.62x54R ball FMJ, replacing the bullet with Hornady 312 diameter 150 grain soft points. It worked quite well, and was way more accurate than I expected. Makes for really good hunting ammo.
