The "deviation" method of measuring groups back then was different than what we use these days. That 3.11" would be the average distance from a determined center of the group of all 10 shots. I.E. determine the center of the group then measure the...

The 311291 is an excellent cast bullet in the 30-30, especial when "steel hunting". I've used it in most every .30 cal rifle and a lot in my 30-30s. A few years back there was a group buy for a 31 cal clone of the 311291. I got one (Lee 6 cavity...

Wolfdog91 When and if you try those loads at longer ranges than 49/50 yards don't be surprised if you get very, very poor accuracy. I seriously doubt you will get linear expansion at 100 yards. In your 7" twist barrel that cast bullet at 2400...

Over pressure(?) for what? Your AR is made and chambered for the 5.56 NATO cartridge (yes, some ARs are marked 223 Rem but that is/was simply the commercial designation for the cartridge). When SAAMI adopted the 223 Remington cartridge the MAP...

Remember that QL is only an estimate, not an actual measurement. How accurate that estimate will be depends on the input of correct data.....as much data as you can put in. As with any computor program; garbage in equals garbage out. As with...

I have done the exact same thing with a batch of 30-06 brass. It was fired multiple times, so I didn't feel too awful bad about scrapping it. Better safe than sorry is what I say. If it was discolored, I would definitely scrap it. Just my $.02...

My experience mirrors yours. I have a number of friction-adjustment Leupold scopes and have had no problems with any of them going out of adjustment. I'm not saying it never happens, but it it surely hasn't happened to me. I have two VX-II 3x9's,...

For use in my Russian SKS and Mini Mk X Mauser I use 17.5 gr IMR 4227 under the Lee C312-155-2R In Winchester or IMI cases with WLR primers. However, I prefer to use H4895 with that bullet. Where IMR 4227 excels for me in the 7.62x39 is with...

I found 4759 to be an okay, good powder in some cartridges but never found 4759 to be any better than other powders. Where 4759 excels for me is with my 45-70 duplex loads used in my Trapdoor M1873 rifles. I use the 4759 under the BP in M1873 and...

The 311359 has not been discontinued; Lyman lists it, like most molds, as "out of stock, available for backorder". I have shot several different cast bullets through a lot of of M1/M2 Carbines over the years . I've found the 311359 to be...

I have quite a few sets of Altamont's. For me, the quality has been a little bit hit and miss. I think I've sent two or three sets back because of quality control problems. They took care of it, no questions asked. They are good people to deal with,...

It will give you a pretty good indication of what people are willing to pay. In today's world, the prices on everything gun & ammo related is inflated beyond belief.

The 311359 is a good one in the 30M1. I'm also very partial to the RCBS 30-115-SP. The Lee C30-120-R should also work well if you can find one.

I have the 150 gr group buy bullet similar to the RD bullet and the lee 155 gr bullet. Both feed perfectly in my Russian SKS and my Mini Mk X bolt gun.

45-70 BP Time/Pressure Curves (Traces) Before I post the Time/Pressure Curves (TPCs) let me briefly discuss/explain what we will see. Savvy Jack, in his posts, mentions the anomalies in the TCPs. What you see there is far more common than...

You may have a little static buildup in your powder measure. A quick wipe with a used dryer sheet will remedy this, if it is the problem. I agree with the others, if it's only a few flakes I would just use it up.

That is the problem. Too much antimony and too little tin. I suggest you add 40% pure lead and then add 2-3% tin to that alloy. You will end up with a very good alloy for .357 loads.

OP has 700X. I'd suggest starting at 5 gr and work +/- for a good load in the 750 - 850 fps range.
