I have slugged a lot of guns with a hard wooden dowel. We are not talking about POUNDING on the dowel but tapping. I use an unsized cast boolit and oil the barrel with gun oil generously and start the slug nose first with a small plastic mallet....

fatelk, here is one that I let get away on the same day I bought the 2 above guns and was tapped out for cash or it would be in my safe today. The price reflects what a good mod 10 should go for without the nutty prices of today factored in. BTW,...

Don't buy one too nice. I found this pencil barrel 10 at a friends table along with the 33-1 38 S&W. Both were unturned and he made me a put up or shut up price and I bought both. I couldn't stand it and had to shoot the little gun but the mod 10 is...

Does it have the original stocks? How is the finish? 6" model 10's are not as common as the more commonly seen 4" guns and 5" are in the same boat as a 6. I'd make a cash offer IF it is in good condition because all things being equal, it is as...

It works like a charm n my 358 Norma mag with 220 cast with a GC at 2000 fps. I only have 1/2 lb left and will miss it. A lot of shooters love 5744 and I have been told that Shooters World Buffalo Rifle is an almost dead ringer for 5744 so maybe...

Robert, the best thing about 22 rimfires, mag or regular, is that they don't generate enough pressure that the tube hanging underneath the barrel affects the accuracy. The clip fed guns always found me searching for a balance point that wasn't right...

I believe-for what that's worth- if Remington had made their rimfire magnum in a 22 cal it would still be with us. The fly in the ointment might have been the ease of making WRM revolvers with a similar size diameter cylinder but in a rifle the 22...

CVA makes a 20 ga single shot slug gun. Anybody had any experience with one of those. It's only going to be a range toy and something to try cast and handloads in. I am currently granting the whitetail population a reprieve!

Buying one and counting on it to fit sounds a little iffy since you had those results.....and Murphy's Law applies. Thanks for the heads up. I'd like the Henry if they would make a 20ga slug gun. I have two artificial shoulder joints and the 12 ga...

The best I have used in my 1895 Marlin CB is the 405 gr with a gas check from Accurate Molds. It is the 2 on the right and they are # 405A in the catalogue. Shoots great at any speed in my rifle, when I do my part.
