Man, that hit home with me. I was ordering a sizer die for my Lyman 450 yrs ago and I guess the poor lady on the phone at Midsouth thought I said .450 instead of .460. My lazy southern vernacular caused me to get the .450 and I thought " what in...

If a hammer and chisel is called "burglar tools" by the police department, then I guess a Lee 20 lb pot and a mold would be what? Destructive devices? Gimme a break!

Dom, have you shot any critters with the 310 Lee? My SRH really likes the 310 Lee and H110. I hope the crimp grooves are deeper on the Accurate boolit than the Lee. My Lee mold cast them with the very faintest crimp groove you can imagine. Let us...

This is pretty good advice. My 629 has had less that 50 full snort 44 magnum loads through it. My everyday carry/target/plink/fun whatever load is 16.6 grs of 2400 and a 429421 for 1000fps in the 4" barrel. You can use 44 mag brass just don't mash...

It's not just primers in short supply. I needed some 200 gr .375 and 35 cal's to load for a friend who doesn't want to shoot cast?? and called Sierra today and asked if they were EVER going to make any more and the guy I talked to on the phone said...

DEFINITELY use Mag primers with H110/296. It wont hurt to use them with 2400 but I have had some bad experiences with H110 and std primers.

If your gun is similar to my 6" 686, I get 1297 average of 5 shots with that load and the 180 gr GC Cast Perf boolit, CCI std primer. My most accurate 180 gr load by a slight amount is 13.5 grs of H110 and the same 180 gr booilit with a W-W mag...

Mic the muzzle and then give JES a call. He will tell you if you have enough "meat" left after the rebore. He told me what he needed on the opposing sides of the bore but I can;t remember so I will not try to venture a guess.

It's not position sensitive, burns clean, accurate as any other powder, doesn't need mag primers, runs ultra smooth through a measure, reasonably priced(by today's standards anyway)---what's not to like? You did well buying it.

The no hole, or pre-lock as they are sometimes called, will always be an investment. The lock era was when S&W caved in to the Bill Clinton gun control measures.

I think I solved the spitting problem. When I sized the 253 gr Accurate boolits in my Lyman 450, because I don't have a push through in 4515, I didn't get the full stroke and size the boolits all the way down into the die. This resulted in a .4545...

derek, the new finish on those stocks really make that 686 look great. I would not try to alter the square butt stocks you have, they are valuable in this market as I'm sure you know after buying the RB ones on Ebay.
