IIRC Stoner originally had a side charger but Gov changed it. A disadvantage to the side charger is it's difficult to pogo.

Mixing Pb and Cu doesn't work. Mixing Cu with Sb does work. Mixing suphur with lead works, hardens the Pb but stinks pretty bad.

Got a stripped upper side charger by mistake once, thought of building it up but never did. There are 2 types. One has a bolt screwed into the 'bolt' and moves with the carrier. The other is a rig that is a charging handle operated from the side...

^^^^ nope I've gone to 2% and no problem pouring from the Lee. Pushed the 145gr PB 2100 fps and got a 1" circle @ 100 yds. Cutting the base is tough to get just right. very true but not why I use it.

Too many others already in BO. 1k$ min when a 400$ works fine. BO is decent for deer at short range. Hogs usually want a larger mag. Advantage of the Long Ranger is 'long range'. 308 or 223 or others. BO isn't a long range cartridge. They could...

Long Ranger platform would not be a viable 300BO gun. 4 rnd mag. Stick with AR, bolt or single shot. I have the 308, very nice. BO is fun too.

I think what you are doing is just cooking the water out. It sure does give a clean alloy. I cook for 1/2 hr min, stirring to get the Cu mixed in to all the alloy as it chemically combines - not just a mix. I don't see any problem with the way...

Choice of powder for that huge case might be a problem. Guess Unique, power pistol and maybe 2400? Look for plinker 06 loads.

With either tin or zinc (cheaper) in the alloy, put copper sulfate on top, wait for it to turn white. Then mush carefully into the liquid till it stops bubbling. Stir it in and remove the 'dusty' junk on top. There is a sticky thread on it. Cu...

Lino makes pretty bullets but 2% Sb works for all but HV rifle. Whole lot cheaper.

All but 9mm will do fine with 1-2% Sb. 4% Sb for the rifles, heat treated. Adding Cu will help with the higher fps and fast twist. I've gotten alox to work OK up to 1800 (BLL), past that, little iify. PC works OK to 2700 in my 308. A quick tumble...

You may need to get into PC coating. Most 30/30s need 310-311. My Marlin leaded with 310 store bought. Get a 311 Lee sizer. Al GCs are cheaper. Try without using 2400 or Unique for plinker rnds. Full length size for THAT gun. I've never trimmed...

I don't induction anneal brass. That said, NO. Most 'hide' the neck from you so you can't tell. Anneal some at a specific time and test the anneal with needle nose pliers. Find the right time and set the machine.

TV show of the football player and GF. He shot a 'goat' from 400 so yds, over a river. Had the knowhow - most don't. GF dropped the rifle and bumped the scope, missing most shots. Know your limits.

armor's kit why? All you need is an upper clamping block. Barrel nuts are flats for a wrench now. Many have tried the 223 cast, few have succeeded. Any 30 cal based on 223 case works fine and is much easier. My BO carbine gets 2" @ 100, 145gr PB,...

you can't get subsonic in 30/30 with light bullets and rifle powder! Heavies and pistol powder. You can use 170gr PB and 2400 or unique to get 14-1700 fps to work. Above that GCs make it easier. Definitely you can get faster but not easily.

I use 'chaser' lower fps GC cast to clean rifle barrels of 'gunk'. Gunk may be slight leading, PC, powder residue, lube residue. Look at the target, almost always a dirty 'ring' around the hole from 'gunk' in the barrel. Any bullet will cleanout...

OK, this doesn't happen, melting lead. However, cutting torch cuts by hot gas MASS and temp. Metal doesn't melt but only hot enough to reduce strength to the point of being blown away. Same with gas cutting of cast. High pressure and small exit...

Ar10 is probably 7.62x51, Henry is 308W - chambers are different. I just re-sized and trimmed a bunch of LC brass. Mine appears to have a SAMMI spec 308W chamber, it measures to spec! Henry did good. Going to load up some PCd 145gr GC for it too....

Forget the GC for any pistol load. But fit and alloy come into play then. GC can cover up a lot of 'sins'.

170gr PB I use in BO AR pistol. Don't use it sub, about 1200 fps. Works fine and cycled OK. 31-168C. Use a 185gr version also but it's GCd, not needed for subs.
