I recently read something online by John Taffin where he said that if you were having trouble getting accuracy in a handgun, try 4227, I don't remember if he specified IMR4227 or not. He did say that 4227 could give accuracy in those instances...

I guess I'll have to look into the Hornady lock rings and the Dillon toothed wrench. Several of my Dillon setups had the bigger rings. When they came out with the 1" rings, I got those for each die on each tool head along with the straight side...

I use a Redding T-7 for a lot of my reloading. One problem I have is making small adjustments to the dies(mostly RCBS). Trying to get a regular Allen wrench in the set screw is almost impossible for me. I don't have much luck trying to rotate the...

I've also heard old timers refer to cartridges as "cat"ridges. In my opinion that is closer to descriptive than "heads" or "pills". I don't have a physical reaction(shiver) when I hear those terms. Not trying to influence anyone(be a grammar...

Not sure where to post something like this but it doesn't really fit in the strictly technical sections. I occasionally notice that posts include referring to boolits(bullets) as "heads". Is this a regional thing or just because of the way they...

I got the Social Security call yesterday. As usual, I let them talk until they got to the point of wanting some information. I cut them off and blocked that number. I have no doubt they will just try using another number. That is what the...

I forgot to mention that I had a 1968 Dodge Charger treated by Zeibart. I was transferred to Tennessee about 6 summer months later. Drove the car until needed a family vehicle after about 5 years in TN. If it stayed in Tennessee, it should still...

Interesting resurrection of an old discussion. Just to add my 2, I have an Arsenal 45-230 WFN mold. I've not loaded any yet because I wanted to try powder coat on them but may not wait for that. The lube groove looks sort of shallow but is...

As a rough guess I think the difference in weight would be negligible. I think it would be interesting to know how much.

I think that Zeibart was Alox 606-XX, supplied in various solvent cuts. It is also the base for Lee Tumble lube. Smells almost like Alox 2138f and Alox 350. I've got some of both and use it in NRA 50-50.

If you go to the link above and scroll down, there are two clear plastic parts bins. I got several in 3 different sizes awhile back when they had a very good sale going on. Come in handy for lots of things.

Try Cornell Publications. They specialize in reprinting old firearms books. The last one I bought was a Lyman #43 manual(I think). https://www.cornellpubs.com/index.php

Many years ago I worked for a company that used a lot of solvents in the paint department. Our vendor gave me some "charcoal lighter fluid", that according to the salesman, was a mixture of a lot of leftover solvents. I couldn't identify any by...

Before you replied I remembered that I usually record the calculated weight when I enter it into my mold spreadsheet. Sure enough there was the weight(180gr). Now to cast a few and see if it works. Most of these rifles have a slow twist barrel so...

Congrats on the 52. I like the Wilson trimmer but have never used it on pistol cases. I think a different type case holder or a spacer is required. I also have a RCBS trimmer but prefer the Wilson.

Just as I indicated in the title, 357-CARB with GC centered below. All on the left half of the mold across from the sprue plate pivot screw. Only other ID on the mold is "MP MOLDS" on the side.

I've got a lot of both. When buying once fired, it is usually specified. I like the SP brass because I don't have to change the primer setup on the Dillon 550. I've got enough LP brass to make it worth while to set up for a large run of .45 ACP...
