    The Ruger #1 45/70 carbine isn't any heavier and as long as one keeps it at Marlin loads or below it is fine to shoot. Trapdoor level loads are really nice. I don't see why one couldn't apply this logic to the new Marlin, it can't be THAT light.

    I will add the idea of not sizing the brass too much. By that I mean, just enough. If the brass you receive is all fired in his gun, use a full length sizer and then set it to "just" set the shoulder back a touch. Don't set the die to bottom out...

    The Springfield Hellcat is a nice pistol and able to be carried in a pocket. I like mine. The Springfield XDS was my carry gun for quite a while and it comes in 9 or 45. When I want a small 45 I pocket carry it and it works great. Hard to beat...
