Well my wife is normally extremely sensitive to anything spicy hot like Capsaicin but the nervex caused no problems. Overall I think it is helping. Untreated the muscles of her left thigh cramp and tighten up. We also just bought a new massage...

I have tested various SP and SR primers in the Hornet. Which is best depends on the type and burn rate of the powder and the operating pressure level. Back in the day I also thought HPing to various depths with a 1/16" Forster HP tool the...

Well I can say that 6.5 grains of Red Dot shoots very well with 200 or 220 gr cast lead. Well below speeds where you would need a gas check. Very accurate and comfortable to shoot all afternoon long out of my Single shot H&R Handi rifles. But I...

openbook In years past I tried the 225415 in my #3 Ruger and several other 16" twist 22 Hornets. With some I got really good accuracy at 50 yards but that went south at about 70 - 75 yards. I also tried the 225462 but it fared no better. I...

Yep, glass Ragu jar works great. I keep 1 original Lee Alox container with the spout for dispensing BLL onto bullets. Rest stays in the glass jar until it is needed. And don't be afraid to add 1% of Carnuba wax by weight melted into the Alox....

My old lyman 2 ball steel mold is .445, was bought for a CVA .45 caplock. It shot well for me, never even considered smaller.

I set checks on a counter, place shank on the check, try to get it centered so the bullet stands straight. Give it a tap with a rubber mallet seating the bullet. Place checked bullet into a press mounted upside down. Check first into the sizing...

Hard to turn a 25 to 35 k BTU's up if you need more heat. Easy to turn a 75k BTU jet type fish fryer down to 50 or even 25 thousand BTU's. So I would buy big and throttle down as needed.

For .410 it is not hard to make a set of tools that will let you reload them. Roll crimp tools are not that expensive and are pretty easy to master. I have an ancient hand cranked one in 12 ga that works great. For previously crimped...

dangt The reason I went with the end mill is on my cylinder there is a slight dished area in the ratchet hub the fits the cartridge rim. I would have had to remove several thousandths if I had used the lathe to turn the hub circumference...

If 31 gr was giving the correct velocity level for the older rifle and/or that appeared to be the accuracy node, then I would drop back 2 gr and try 29, 30 and 31 gr with the dacron filler.

Yes, pinching off a piece of bulk polyester works fine. Just make sure it's enough to fill the airspace between powder and bullet base. A tudge too much won't make any difference. Too little can.

The use of a proper dacron (polyester) filler would be beneficial with that load in that cartridge. Might have to back off a gr +/- to maintain the same velocity due to more efficient ignition and burn. Read post #2 for an explanation of the...

Had the same problem with my original run 32 Single Six when I got it back in the '90s. I just flattened the point of a 25/64" drill bit making it an end mill. With the cylinder in a mill table on my vertical drill press, I made a very, very...

Would love to see you try that same test with a "light" addition of ATF, ie Dextron II or III Automatic Transmission Fluid. Maybe 5 drops in a whole tin then shake. And the same for BLL. 5 drops in a tin, shake, then open to let them dry. ATF...
