Not a 270 but here we go . I have had excellent results with the NOE 279-124 it casts 129 gr and is just over 130 ready to shoot . I've run it 2200+ in a 1-10 twist . I have a 280??? pointed bullet with a long check shank , it was an old...

1280 with 12 pellets was enough for 10-50 yd 170# wool clad combatants for 60-70 yr in trenches and tunnels . Modern , meaning under 50 yr old , tools and components I would think 1350+-25 fps with 7-9 hits inside 12" as far as that will reach...

We got calls stating our power was going to be shut off in the next 45 minutes yesterday . Amusing of course as I really don't care if the power is on in the empty garage 1700 miles away that hasn't had attached powder for most of 20 yr . They left...

Just as a guide . I loaded H322 in a 45 Colts with data from a trusted source with a 350 gr bullet . The start load was 1240 fps in a 16" carbine with a desired max pressure of 23kpsi . It was under 800 fps in a 7.5" Blackhawk . I tried 4350 once...

I never dreamed I'd be the curmudgeon that would say "well actually it's happened a lot " but I guess the history books don't count coastal waters , and territories ..... Enough of that , I'll just leave you with U Boats off Jersey , the Alamo ,...

After a brief mental review the core group is 1940 to 1970 dates . The pre 1935s cancel out the post 2000s . The 1866 Chessipot with the 1871 issue stamp tilts the balance to something close to 1953 . I'd go with average age of 70-72 years .

I believe some portion of Buckshots tooling now resides with Ammohead . He's doing it as a " soon to be retired hobby " basis . He has done a couple for me both H&I and Lee types . I needed a .272 , that's what I received . Just send him a PM , he...

Harter66 replied to a thread Molds for 6.5?? in Cast Boolits
I have had several . One rifle was .......just silly to shoot cast in but the 266469 was ok in 264 WM with less than 20 full power loads ever fired in it . It doted on a 120 gr NOE 260-120 FP paper patched with like 12-14 gr of Unique , the 43rd...

I don't find things like that ....... My Dad found 2 95' Mauser barrled actions in a bucket of rebar that was about 20 minutes from going to the scrap yard . One of them made a pretty nice 257 Roberts . The other a test bed for a rimless 45-70...

I found an RCBS mould about 9 yr ago and was ready to buy it but the shipping ran the $79.99 mould right up to $100 . That was when I bought my first NOE . For $109 to the door I got 5 cavities instead of 2 . You're right it doesn't take a PhD...

Did a 32 Rem once . Used a Lee push through and 8mm checks . I also found I 4350 with a plain based ACWW 323-175R2 Lee shot well enough to not worry about checks .

Yes cast lead can be shot in Glocks ......no it's not where you should start . With trigger time and attention to detail jacketed velocities are not difficult to get to up to 22-2300 fps MV . Have you considered a still ? I mean it's not...
