I once had these three 30-06's I eventually had a FL die set up to size max where new to me brass was used in the tight cranky chamber and another set up just tight enough to get the brass back in the tight cranky chamber. I have a couple of...

That's about the middle of the road for Trapdoor levels. Pretty easy to hit with Unique. I forgot about the Lee 458-340 . That sounds like it's exactly where you want to go .

Too bad Mountain Moulds design program went away with his retirement. There are 35 cal moulds available to at least 300 gr . You might post for a few heavies in swapping and selling...... Is the bullet exchange still there ? The RCBS 35-250...

    The 45-70 can be as exotic or boring as you want it to be . I have moulds in .458-.461 at 255 , 380 , 385 , 415 (405) , 417 (420) , 530 (500) , and 535 gr . Of those so far the 405 gr 458193 has been the most alloy , powder , load level flexible...

M Tecs description is the way I understood the progression to the short . With a .735 case length that doesn't work with the Colts rim on the 1.1" Schofield S&W cartridge. W/o looking it up that sounds even shorter than the GAP .

What does the cartridge or cartridges you want to shoot cost per 100 ? Do you shoot 100 of 2-3 per year ? I started casting because 45 Colts jumped from $32/100 to 38/50 for 50 rounds marginally suited for my needs . I already reloaded so it was...

Get a .279 mould and patch it . I have a good 7mm that delivered most of what I wanted . It was .284 I patched to .285 . So far a core .001-.0015 over bore patched to .001 over groove has worked for me . I had a stupid run during work up I...

Between the Ms and I we have 5 scripts. Pill vials , aka bottles , are wonderful things. It sucks always carting a pharmacy around but at 60 bottles a year that are basically air tight , UV resistant, and quite handy it's made a little better . ...

To further the expander, M die , etc difficulties ........ I recently found that many sizing dies grossly oversize , and even more so for our needs . As an example the 2 sets of 6.550SR , well known to need at least a .267 dia jacketed , size...

Well pictures would really drive it home . While it's a shame about the rifle and the powder you being uninjured and able to tell the tale is a good thing . I learned an important lesson about weighing bullets from a new to me mould through a...

Don't know if I dropped my 2 . 231 just hasn't been readily available to me . The 15# keg of Unique Dad gave me is almost gone . It's only taken me 20 yr . :) I bought an 8# of Unique just after the 08' elections. Dad brought me a second...

CW I have no doubt about the numbers I use a jacketed max load of Unique with a 401-175 TC @182 gr and get 980 and a 2.5" XD40 . Even with17 gr of bullet , the 1/10 in of case , 2" of barrel and 5,000 psi shouldn't have any problem making up 25...

Mechanics wrench in the works here . I'll side with the OAL and dia . In addition to those points and descriptions . The nose dia at specific points of it's length are too large . What happens is that the that portion of the bullet hits first...
