I voted 8 because that’s what my Kimber 45 holds BUT I carry a Bond arms derringer in 410 loaded with Hornady critical defense (a 41 FTX with three shotgun balls behind it) which would give me time to get to my “real” gun…. Art

Agreed 100% All they had to do was make a blasted exact copy and I gladly would pay the price although there are some very nice copies being made…in Italy no offense intended… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Nice looking rifle Marlinman93! I love my Marlins, Rolling Blocks, 1886’s etc they are pretty. The butt-ugliness of the Tippman and the weight also has kept me from trying one, they just don’t “feel” right. In spite of weight, my Sharps and Miroku...

I’ve bought Lyman #2 and Rotometals 30-1 (for BPCR) for close to twenty years and have never been dissatisfied with any of their products. I collected lead (not zinc..) wheel weights for close to 20 years before that and still have some 5 gallon...

Here here Bill. I’ve used 4198 for years for 45-70 and I *think* (I’d have to consult my notebooks, been a while for 444) .444 Marlin. 4198 with cast bullets, mostly 400grain cast and it has always been extremely accurate for me. That being said...

I had thought about welding it up Sam but after talking with Lee decided to roll the dice in the hope the the new extractors from Pedersoli were updated. According to him, the later model extractors have a “hump” that stops them from rolling all the...

Good post Don and I agree. I live a few miles north of you I think and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve heard “YESSIR I shot that buck with a 25-06 on a dead run at 750 yards with the wind howling (or take your pick here…) and dropped it...

I don’t know boys….I wonder sometimes if we are a dying breed. Local gun shows within 100 miles of me have had a constant in the last year —- no offense intended, I’m old too (64) and the constant has been….old people. I see very, very few young...

Just wondering if anyone has anything good, bad, or indifferent to say about these guys. They make a repop rolling block in 45-70 and 357mag. I had occasion to handle one at a gun show a couple of months back, felt good but no one had heard about...

Update for all WOW….the things we won’t do for an old gun, just an update for you. I talked to Lee Shaver (a really nice down to earth guy…) who informed me the operation of this rolling block was normal — I asked Pedersoli to date it for me via...

I haven’t seen anyone mention: www.stevesgunz.com About ten years ago I had a Rossi 1892 .357 that did_not like certain bullet profiles and I got pointed to Steve’s site, bought his DVD and spring kits and ended up with five Rossi’s that...

……and THAT I think is what I’m fighting, you cannot just unlock block and load, the extractor follows the breech block ALL the way and then you have to push it forward towards the chamber, engage case rim, and then everything locks up as it should ...

Thanks for all the responses. Rifle loads (and presumably shoots…) fine as long as I push extractor towards chamber with a fingernail to where it catches rim of cartridge and then block closes perfectly. It seems strange that the extractor would do...

Thank you, just proved it. If I grab extractor and push it towards the chamber (it literally “flops” when chamber is opened and follows breechblock all the way back..) then load the round (a dummy) it closes perfectly. Not certain how normal that is...

OK, I’m showing my ignorance on rolling blocks probably. Scored a very nice Pedersoli a few months back and have ammo reloaded. Took it to the range today, cocked hammer, opened loading gate, thumbed in round……and extractor seemed to be in the way...
