THIS ^^^^^^^^^ all day long. You *may* have to trim brass back to length at some point but with the loads I shoot I’ve never had to ——- and RIGHT ON about the 500grain bullets and slower loads. I too prefer 300-405 grain cast or so. Art

You should be fine, I have several Marlin 45-70’s, none of which are CB’s nor do they have microgroove. Not certain if any 45-70’s were MG or not, mine are not. If you’re not playing speed demon with them brass should be good for many loadings, I...

I’ve been in the same boat for almost 9 months now (LOL) ever since Ruger released the new Marlin SBL 45-70’s. I’ve *almost* spent the money I’ve set aside for another rolling block, Sharps, take your pick I love them ALL. I’ve got three major LGS...

In the beginning YES, they would seize your account if it had any funds in it and hood it hostage. BUT, since eBay bought them not so bad, I recently bought a 410 barrel for my Bond Arms derringer no problem. Art

I’ve been wanting a Ruger old/new army for a couple of years and wil NOT pay what they go for, probably why I’ve been waiting 8 months for a new Ruger SBL. The last time I waited 8-9 months for something to get released it cost me hundreds of...

100% agreed! I’ve never had a chance to shoot the H&R but I’d guess it wouldn’t be pain free. The problem for me is that….I have the shortest LOP ever known. Someday I’m gonna die, kids will sell my guns and someone is going to think they got a real...

I could not agree more with that. For whatever reason, the 405gr slugs whether they are jacketed or cast shoot like a dream out of any 45-70 I’ve got and are very easy to work up a load for, in my case almost always 4198 although lately I’m playing...
