Good days and bad ones. The good news is she continues to lose weight on her diet. Her doctor had her cut her Metformin dose in half after seeing her and seeing her glucose numbers. This is all good long term news. Just going to take some time to...

I prefer aperture sights to buckhorns and my eyes are not very good. You can buy, or make, different apertures so you can make a peep sight do what you want. When I was shooting CAS, I would remove the disk and use it as a ghost sight...very...

I have a pair of Colt SAA’s that I “butchered”. In order to get the guns to shoot to POA I had to file the sights. My guns are tools and I needed these pistols to shoot a mouse fart 125 gr load to POA at 10 yards for CAS. So, “butchering”...

I never had a problem with Optics Planet. However, if I know a vendor is going to ship using DHL, I will find someone else to order from. DHL is the worst!

That is wise advice. BTW, want to relate a story. A couple of months ago my fiancé decided to get a CPL. I told her I would not "help" her decide what gun to carry. Encouraged her to go to ranges that rent guns and try a bunch out and to...

Thanks for the replies guys. I am very well set for my hunting, self-defence, and plinking needs/wants, but always interested in learning more about different guns and reevaluating my choices. I understand "neat toys" as I indulged that...

I had a chance to see Jeff Beck a few years ago at a relatively small venue in Tulsa. No one in my family was interested in going with me, so I passed on the opportunity. Now I see I should have gone. I passed on Robert Plant too. Same location...

I am ignorant of the platform. For the most part, my guns are tools but I have a couple that have sentimental value. Put aside the "cool" factor and answer a question. What will it do that cannot be done in an AR at half the cost?

Bit pricey for my taste. I really can't see buying one in 5.56. 7.62x39 I already have a SKS plus a handi rifle. Also have .300BO handi rifle. The 8mm Kurtz is interesting but not interesting enough to get around the price tag. While I agree that it...

Interesting thread. I hate to admit this, but I have never measured OAL on reloads produced on a progressive press. But until recently, I have only used Dillon’s and Star’s. I need to keep this in mind when evaluating the new Lee 6000.

Handgun calibers are much different. There is a lot more "wiggle room" wrt projectile size so being a couple of .001" off is not as critical. Also, handguns calibers cannot match the accuracy potential of an air rifle. I can get well under 1"...

https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=181093.0 This thread ran for 10 months and died. Lots of banter. Guys getting excited about gaining a bit of velocity and pretty pellets, but the really important criteria, accuracy, did not...

dverna replied to a thread Weight variation in Cast Boolits
There is a point of diminishing returns when chasing accuracy. What others have alluded to is important. Just how accurate does it need to be? Take 5 bullets that weigh 345 gr and 5 that weigh 346 gr and fire a 10 shot group. Take 10...
