Had another range session this afternoon with my 3-17 vintage M17 Enfield manufactured by Remington and fitted with a Parker-Hale 5C range sight. The load was my favourite 208gn cast bullet (Lyman 311284) with conventional lube and sized to 0.310". This 10 shot group at 50m was typical of several that I printed today.

What was really interesting was that I got better groups from rounds with conventional lubing as opposed to powder coat. The powder coated projectiles would not seat into the rifling as the lubed projectiles did. The other finding was with my eye cataracts the target was very blurred but the aperature sight definately sharpens up the image. That black bull is 4 inches in diameter so the group is less than half that diameter.
