Hi guys! I'm looking to find a decent pair of rubber grips for my 44 mag Ruger Super-Blackhawk.
I put hogue grips on and they seem to be to big around for my hand. Its not very comfortable holding. Any suggestions of other makers that make a Med size grips for us LiL guys!
Thanks for your help!

I use Pachmeyer grips but I see your point about small hands. Some other grips are even larger then the Pachmeyer's.

here's my thread on this subject...

http://rugerforum.net/ruger-single-action/26220-can-i-modify-pachmayr-grips-fit-my-50th-ann-44blackhawk-xr3-grip.html

They are modified CSA = Colt single Action Army grips by pachmayr.
pachmayr doesn't make them anymore, but you can still find them if you shop around.

I had to dremel them (inside) to fit.

the 50th anniversary uses the original "XR3" grip, not sure how these would fit the Super Blackhawk,....but the ruger forum can help

I have smaller hands as well and went with the Hogue Gunfighter Grips in Ebony on my Bisley Hunter. :)

Had a set of those pachmayrs' on a Single Six one time. They came on the pistol when I bought it. Good feelin' grips.
Hate to hear they quit making them.

They aren't rubber, but you might want to try a set of EAGLE GRIPS gunfighter model...very similar to what JesterGrin_1 posted. There is some subtle contouring on them...the guy who designed them knew some things about single action guns.

Caryc makes some similar grips; possibly PvtSchultz also.

Potsy;
Pachmayr is still making grips for most Rugers both single and double action. However, they don't make them to fit the latest XR-3 grip on the New Vaquero, the 50th Anniversary models, and the .44 Lipsey Specials.

However, as derek45 points out, the Colt SAA grips fit the XR-3 grips pretty well. As Derek states, tho', they have discontinued the Colt SAA grips. I have found several sets on the net (after a good Forum friend clued me in on this by sending me a set as a gift). I am presently using several of these. They require very little alteration to make them fit rather well. I, personally, prefer them to all other grips on a "working" gun. They absorb considerable recoil and make the single actions MUCH easier on my hands (I get a bad knuckle rap with both the Colt style and the Bisley style Ruger grips when using heavy loads). I have NO problems when using the Pachmayrs and they fit me MUCH better.

Thanks Dale.
I don't even have a Ruger Single Six or Std. or Super Blackhawk currently. Thought if I ever did, I'd have another set of those grips.
They felt good without looking or feeling bulky.

Homemade walnut.
Slightly thicker at the top than the bottom opposite and not as drastic a taper as the factory.
Feels MUCH better in my hand to me.
Improves my shooting with a BH and SBH considerably.

I decided to put something special on my 50th Anniversary Blackhawk .44 and got a set of Cary Chapman's grips.

They're definitely not cheap, but they are absolutely top quality and absolutely gorgeous.
