I am switching to the SBH for deer and went through my boolits only to find very few left. I had some 330 gr left and some 285 gr for the Marlin. I loaded all and sighted with my arms on a pad, no sandbags.
The 330 put the first two in a ragged hole, high left so I changed the red dot and had no problem hitting a beer can on a stick at 65 yards.
The 285 gr was bad and it took six shots to hit a can at 100 yards. This boolit was a try for the Marlin and does not work in my revolver. It is a RNFP. I think it is the one wide GG.
I have 5 shots left but I didn't see any deer last afternoon except 7 that ran through like crazy when a bunch of horse riders spooked them. I have to butcher this morning and hope to get out tonight.
