Steve Acker has an in depth, step by step article on enlarging driving bands in a RCBS 9MM mold for a customer in this months issue(Dec-Jan) of The Machinists Workshop.
He covers making a small HSS boring bar, sharpening it, indicating the blocks etc

.............Did that cutting drive bands in a guy's Lyman 12ga slug mould. Of course the shotgun slug is monsterous compared to the 9mm cavity. However, if you think about it, the method used is pretty much the only way to do it. Differences can occur in the boring bar/cutting tool and the means of holding the mould which was as he mentioned, a fixture on a surface plate or dinking with a 4 jaw:drinks:
