Herters 164??????????/

Hi all!!
I was given 3 unopened cans of this powder. I would like to use it with 45ACP. 230 gr cast RN (wheel weights) to duplicate 4.0gr Bullseye. Anybody have any data? I have the original shotgun sheets but don't have anything to reference to.

Herters 164 was their slowest shotgun powder of the 3 offered, 160, 162, & 164. I have a can of 164 I've never opened. I also have a can of 162 that I used a little bit for shotshell loading. In the Herter loading manual, 45 auto is limited to three other commercial powders and none of their own powders. If your determined to use 164, in a .45 auto, I'd start with the lowest Blue Dot recommendations and work up....Geo

Here's an old thread on another website in which I participated. A poster included some 45 ACP data that he had worked up. It's the best I can do on this powder.
