Well, I managed to twist the head off a stuck Winchester 73 carbine front barrel band screw. I will have to drill it out. Anybody know the thread size and pitch in case I need to chase the threads and where might I buy a new screw? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Go to VTI as they sell hardned screws for the 73's and 66's instead of that soft stuff they come with. They have a great catalog to have. They also have the bands.

Thanks guys, that is the information I need. I can also pick up some stock tang screw and a link pin or two I need at the same time. I am restoring (not refinishing) my Great Grandfathers Winchester 73 carbine in 38 WCF. It has had a rough life since his death in 1906.
Or you can try here. These guys specialize in that stuff... old Winchesters including most all the screws and other parts like the links/pins for the 73s.
